I'm Reading Your Stuff: General News and Discussion Thread

I could see Penguin meeting Bruce as a party or something while he’s undercover, saying something like “Ah, Slick, looks like we’ve been doing well for ourselves.” Then in the third act Bruce remembers Penguins new place in society that will provide him information.

I’m also leaning Arkham, as I’ve said before, maybe it’s personal bias talking but like someone mentioned above, the first film dealing with Bruce’s father, seems obvious to then deal with his mother, I think it’s unexpected but the seeds were definitely laid, and like Reeves said it would explore a side of Bruce we’ve never seen before. Especially if you mix elements of Hugo Strange into Jeremiah Arkham.

All that being said, I could definitely see Reeves using Hush for a third film, tying back into the Edward Elliot thing (which I think was more than just a nod)

Spit balling, but if Bruce's public persona is a big part of the story, Hush using his face feels like a very Reeves move. Especially with the questions about Bruce and his mother's mental health. Will Bruce think he's losing his mind? Could very well invite Arkham into the story.

What's the source on his role being key? I don't remember that
I’m not 100% sure, but I believe it came from an interview for the Penguin series, because Penguin was confirmed to return early on. It’s also possible that things may have changed, because originally Collin said that he heard he’d be in 5-6 (?) scenes. Now he says it’s a small role.

I'm very curious to see how Reeves decides to open this movie. I think the Riddler opening was an excellent way to set the tone. It was very unsettling.

As for the penguin, I do like that it is a very small role. We got to spend a lot of time with the character in the show, no need to over do it.

So are we gonna get the Billionaire Playboy persona from Bruce this time around?
If it’s still on the same schedule Reeves alluded due to during Penguin promotion last year, the movie will only take place about a month and a half after the first. I think it would be jarring to go from the socially awkward version we saw then to suddenly a playboy persona a month later.

I discovered a movie I didn't know.

The Parallax View.
It's directed by Pakula, the same director who made All President's Men and Klute (both references to The Batman).

The interesting thing is that the big conspiracy involves a corporation that brainwashes unstable people into committing murder or crimes.
It's very similar to The Manchurian Candidate.

What if this was the main reference for Strange/Jeremiah and his Monsters Men?

Now imagine this subliminal brainwashing scene, but with Bruce trying to infiltrate...
