MTV: How long ago was your incident?
Nicholson: That's got to be three or four years [ago]. I didn't know Mr. Ledger, but the town is very sad on his behalf.
MTV: You'd never met him?
Nicholson: No, I'd never met him. I would have tried to have a fun talk with him about the Joker.

So sad, this talk will never happen...

Jack seems so weird about this whole thing

jack wasn't mad guys; you had to read that previous interview with a sarcastic tone

It's pretty interesting. Joker Coaching in a way. I wonder if Michael Keaton had that conversation with Christian Bale...

I would love to see that. Bale has been on record though saying that he never saw the other Batman movies or anything like that because he wanted to create his own way.

man, my mom just saw my Joker poster that came with that magazine and she didnt like it, she thought it was really creepy, lol.

If thats what people like thats fine but i always wanted joker to be a harmless looing guy on the outside the rotting makeup is still shock for shocks sake imo.

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall for a conversation between Jack and Heath about The Joker :)

Mission accomplished. Darker Joker = Creepier.

yeah but the guy didn't knew him, and everyone asking questions about him, the guy have to look sad about a guy who's gonna play the same character as him. He don't really know how to take it.

In other words, you want Cesar Romero. That's one of the few incarnations of the Joker that wasn't creepy in any way, shape, or form. Sure, some incarnations look more clownish than others, but Mr. J almost always has a subtle creepiness to him. I didn't have nightmares about Jack's Joker when I was a kid, but I've heard many a tale from those who did. And it's easy to see why.

Even the TAS Joker had his creepy moments. I remember one SHHer who said that he had nightmares about him after seeing the Laughing Fish episode. I think he said that he had dreams about the Joker sneaking into his room at night and putting a Joker fish under his pillow. lol. And then there's that classic scene in MOTP. "Makes you want to laugh, doesn't it, Artie?" Not harmless looking by any means.

This Joker has much more of a horror movie look than any other, I'll admit that. But they're only emphasizing a creepiness that has always been there.

On the outside. I know what he means, but my favorite Joker stories from the Joekrs don't feature a harmless Joker on the outside.

Artist Vincent Fantauzzo, was the runner up for the Archibald Prize declared his work honoring Heath Ledger as “not for sale” even though he’s gotten offers left and right. Instead, it will hang in the Perth home of actor’s mother, where he sat for the portrait last December, shortly before his death in New York.

The artist continued,

"I have had loads of offers from all over the place, but I would like to give the painting to Heath’s mum. It’s a thank you to Heath for letting me into his private life and opening up so many doors for me. I feel like he left me something very special. I can almost guarantee if I look at it, I’ll get goose bumps breaking out."

That's a fantastic painting. The likeness is exceptional in all three poses.

Heath Ledger could actually be nominated for an Oscar for the Joker(from Access Hollywood/OMG!);

Could Heath Ledger Earn A Posthumous Oscar Nomination For The Joker?

The late Heath Ledger is garnering early buzz for his role as The Joker in the upcoming Christopher Nolan-directed "The Dark Knight," but could his performance be Oscar-worthy?
In a new article, Tom O'Neil of the Los Angeles Times suggests there is a possibility of Heath earning a posthumous Oscar nomination, if the hype surrounding his performance in the film is accurate.

One person who is offering up rave reviews of is the film's director, Christopher Nolan, who has described Heath's performance as "iconic."
Nolan told the New York Times he felt a "massive sense of responsibility" to make a film that would honor Heath's "terrifying, amazing" performance and said that Heath's interpretation of The Joker is inspiring.

"It's stunning, it's iconic," Nolan said "It's going to just blow people away."
Wally Pfister, "The Dark Knight's" cinematographer, echoes Nolan's sentiments, telling the New York Times, Heath seemed "like he was busting blood vessels in his head. It was like a seance, where the medium takes on another person and then is so completely drained."

If the film does result in an Academy Award nod, it won't be the first time Heath has been up for an Oscar. He was previously nominated for Best Actor for "Brokeback Mountain" in 2005.
And if Heath were to win, he would follow Peter Finch as the only actors to ever win a posthumous Oscar. Finch won for his role in "Network" in 1976.

yeah. it's not out of the question. if it's that good then he could get nominated.

agreed. and it helps that heath was already nominated before and he has a lot of love in hollywood. i mean when was last time agents and publicists banded together to threaten a blacklist if the media continued to slander the man? lots of love and respect there.

wow really thats what they did?

Oh, that they did. It was a thing to behold. All sorts of actors and actresses threatened to never appear on the TV stations' channels if they continued dragging Heath's name through the mud.
