Indy 5

Times ticking down...they need to get the stone rolling in another year or two.

I'm assuming you all tread already that Harrison Ford wants Indy to die in the next film right?

Have the spear of destiny mixed in with good old fashioned nazis that are trying to rebuild the empire after Hitler's demise and maybe even some evil religious group that want it. The spear gives its holder the power to rule a nation. It has supposedly been passed down from generation to generation. Have it had been in England during the time of Kings and Queens such as Henry VII. You could even throw in the Shroud of Turin as a stop on the hunt for the spear. You could even have Indy start in the Middle East looking for the site at which Jesus was crucified and maybe even stop by to see some Sallah!

Actually ghost that rumored was debunked a few days after it went online.

No ****ing Atlantis. If they go after Atlantis I will throw something.

It's already been done. Give us an original adventure.

That's a good idea. But it doesn't sound like it would mesh well into the 50's (or maybe even early 60's) for me. I think whatever is going on should be relevant for the time period. The fourth had the aliens. Although it would be hard since aliens were a huge part of the culture of the 50's. They pretty much used alot of what was going on in the 50's in the fourth.

We can't see Nazis a third time anyway. Ford even said "we plumb wore Nazis out."

Lucas & crew better go back & look at their 50's history & see what or who is the next logical step for Indy. Might be hard since Lucas mostly uses historical artifacts & myths to weave in his story. What is left that can fit the time frame?

The Bermuda triangle is good enough. Really, how much research does there have to be? He went after the Sankara stones, and that movie was fantastic.

Lucas and Spielberg even said the Holy Grail was ho-hum, until they added Indy's father into the mix. It's not the artifact that's important, so much as the journey. They could make it about the last package of Big League Chew.

So what is Indy's quest this time around? Honestly I think their's no real point to a fifth film the fourth film ended his story nicely if they wanted to continue then do a spin of series with his son mutt (Oh god no)

I don't like the Bermuda Triangle idea. It would still be nice to have a physical object. I saw on some Indy board someone suggested these stairs for time travel or something. But that would go too far I think. Then people would demand to see Indy back in the 30's again.

Plus time travel has been used alot these days.

Well because I have absolutely nothing go on, I looked for an artifact on the net that may work for Indy 5. Everything I came across ,that had an importance or legend to it ,was used already. [the Ark, for its myth of power, the Holy Grail for its eternal youth, etc.] Not anything I stumbled across to equal those.

Yeah, I tried looking on the internet as well. I couldn't find anything that was remotely interesting enough as a plot device. I wonder what the hell Lucas has thought of to go after. It could be something that will make us go "of course" when we hear about it. Was the crystal skull something that people speculated on before there was an Indy 4?

Excalibur is an idea, but I don't know how strong that would be. I wouldn't mind seeing that. Maybe it's because it's the only thing I can think of.

I see you did the same. The Excalibur idea is good. Im just unsure about the legend surrounding it. I know what the Grail was & what it was suppose to do if you drank from it. The Ark's myth also. With Excalibur what would you gain from finding it? Other then the fortune of it...Lucas always has an artifact that has some mystical quality to it........if Excalibur has that, it may be a start.

That too. All it is a sword thought to be from legend. What does the enemy gain from obtaining it? It just can't be a heavy object. I have no clue either.

I don't know if I want to see magic like sorcery and wizardry in a Jones film. But who knows?

Zombies on the other hand. God yes. But Army of the Dead took that idea.

Even the Mummy movies that S. Sommer did with the curse & Egyptian loot stole a few more ideas from Indy. I think those were discovered in 50's too.

I think pulling a man's beating heart out of his chest, somehow allowing him to survive, and then having the heart spontaneously combust counts as some sort of magic. Besides, all the climaxes involve supernatural stuff in some way, so it really wouldn't be that much of a departure (unless Indy's throwing fireballs the entire time, but hey, who doesn't love a good hadouken?)

Hmmm...That could be really interesting.

Army of the Dead was kind of done in Army of Darkness & 3rd Mummy movie.

I never read Army of the Dead. Is it good?

Haha, true. I guess I'm getting bad images of Indy casting spells or something.

I'd love to see Indy inside a pyramid though. That could be something cool.

Are there any Asian artifacts? I'd love to see Indy go in China or have some action sequence in Hong Kong.

Even better, a snow sequence. Like trying to escape an avalanche Indy style or something.
