Indy 5

Why would Indiana Jones need rebooted? If they DO go along without Ford (hopefully not), they can just have a new actor in a new adventure ala Mr. Bond.

Also, five bucks says Disney buys Star Wars & Indiana Jones when Lucas becomes "one with the force".

I think Indiana is definitely one of those characters that deserves to live on past the original actor. I find it a little sad that this great character is only in one movie worth caring about.

No. Indiana Jones is not James Bond nor is he Batman. He cannot be reinterpreted because no one else can do what Harrison Ford did. Please, can you imagine Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford? You think of him and Ford is there along with the name.

James Bond had numerous books to his name. So of course there would be more than one. Jones' films were one at a time and a five picture deal was made with only Raiders as the first story. It was never mapped out. Harrison Ford just has this magical quality to him (as corny as that sounds) that no one else can match him. It's not like Batman or Bond where everyone has a preference. No actor will ever come close to what Ford did in the role. Leave it the hell alone. Hell, I think even studios understand this. Go and adapt and create other action heroes. Jones belongs to Ford.

There are plenty other action heroes to use in the future.

If there's an actor who looks mildly Harrison & give a great performance like Harrison does, I'd be all for a new actor. If not, then let the series live on in cartoons, games, comics & books after the 5th movie.

No thanks. I'm getting tired of all these characters being portrayed by mulitple actors. I don't need someone else playing Indy. Plus unlike characters like Batman and James Bond, Indiana Jones started in film and started with Harrison Ford. Who the heck needs another actor? I rather there be no more than another actor.

I'm agreeing with everything Doctor Jones is saying.

However, I'd love to see an Indy animated show a la BTAS.

Or not have a fifth movie, remember the series fondly for what it was, and strive for creatively new endeavors rather than trying to suck whatever soul is left out of the series with newer, more contrived installments.

Harrison Ford is almost 70. And Shia Lebouf is the last person I want to see pick up the "mantle" of Indiana Jones. (Well, maybe second to Jack Black)

We had some good movies, memories were made, childhoods were had. But let's move on.

Yes. Bond and Batman came from material. These were always from films and Ford was always the model for Jones.

And Ross, an animated series is what I would support. I'd love it.

How so? It's better to end it at 5 (which I'm pretty sure they will) and do an animated series. It has alot of potential. We don't have to worry about Ford's age and the character could live on through that. Make it a half hour show with a two parter episode. The first part a cliffhanger leading to the second part. Just make it a cartoon version of the 30's adventure serials but with Indy.

Not the cartoon. That's fine. The assertion that since Bond and Batman were books before films for some reason that is justification not to recast the actor after he gets too old to play the part.

Just get a no name in there who has roguish good looks and a snarky personality. Should be fine.

Nathan Fillion / Harrison Ford type. :D

Hahaha!

I was just thinking of the fanboys who would then proceed to complain that Ford isn't doing the voice work for it. :woot:

I liked the voice of that one guy from Emperor's Tomb. He'd do well for a cartoon.

If they do a cartoon, then I actually would want a different actor.I don't think I'd want Ford to voice a cartoon Indy. It feel weird.

Yes, and base the animation style off of the Fleischer Superman.

Ford doesn't need to voice Indy anyway. I don't mind it.

How many no name actors are there these days that capture all of that? And with acting talent no less? They tried the exact same thing before they cast Ford. Doesn't work. There's no way in hell an actor can play Indy like Ford. It's because they are the same person.

Hmm, this makes the 1,023,768 th time Fillion has been suggested for something.

And you know what? He'll never get any of those suggested roles. :awesome:

an old indy set in the 60's

or

a young (new) indy v nazis

I love harrison ford but I'd rather see the latter to be honest.

people thought sean connery couldn't be replaced but he was and whilst no one will ever be as good as the first james bond, I've enjoyed several incarnations that have followed him.

And yet there are people who prefer others over Connery. Bond had books. The character is bigger than Connery. Like Batman.

Jones existed in movies first and Ford was cast. Everything lead to him being cast. No one else could have played it. Tom Selleck? No ****ing way.
