I'm disappointed; Nolan should've skipped overused sci-fi tropes like space and science. :P
Yeah , he not only used a spaceship, but they wear spacesuits too.
I mean,WHAT NERVE!

I'm officially bowing out of this thread until November 6th. It's going to hurt like hell, but I'll do it.

I'll see you on the other side, people.

I've stayed away for the most part. But I'm glad to hear such great things about the film. Really does not surprise me though. Most anticipated film of this year.

Looks great. Anne should be the lead in a superhero film based off this little flight GIF!
Oh, yes, Annestronaut so sassy.

She will be a interesting and cool character Brand.

If Bill Irvin is indeed [BLACKOUT]Tars[/BLACKOUT], then expect him to be funny since Irvin is a comedian.

Didn't he play Anne Hathaway's father in Rachel Getting Married?

Nolan praised him a lot in that new Empire article.

I looked him up and his voice is awesome!

From IMDb. Did you know. New.

Christpher Nolan screened a print of The Right Stuff (1983) for the crew before the filming started.

Production designer Nathan Crowley based the Endurance ship's design on the International Space Station: "It's a real mishmash of different kinds of technology; you need analogue stuff as well as digital stuff, you need back-up systems and tangible switches. Every inch of space is used, everything has a purpose. It's really like a submarine in space. "

Production designer Nathan Crowley described the Lander spacecraft as a "heavy Russian helicopter".

Some space sequences were shot with an IMAX camera installed in the nose cone of a Learjet.

Hoyte Van Hoytema retooled an IMAX camera to be handheld for shooting interior scenes.

I totally forgot about them attaching an IMAX camera to a plane's nose cone.

I'm thinking the footage we've seen of the shuttle flying through the clouds incorporates the learjet IMAX footage.

i tell you what really burns me up. the plot's reliance on a wormhole. what a DS9 rip-off.

too bad Interstellar isn't as original as other big-budget Hollywood films made with a mass audience in mind.

what are you talking about, Persona? Are you being facetious?

I think it was a play on the post from last page about being annoyed that Nolan used the "sci fi trope" of robots.

I like how Anne looks in all black, when she walking with Matthew and Michael Caine in TV spot #5. She looks cool.

And my favorite moment in the TV spot # 6 (0:21), where Anne moves in zero gravity and cheeky crosses his fingers in flight.

Sassy Amelia Brand.

Interstellar
Rated PG-13 For some intense perilous action and brief strong
language.
Release Date: November 7, 2014

Perilous: full of danger or risk.

Gravity really had me tense - let's see how Nolan does here.

We are a little over five weeks away from the opening of Christopher Nolan‘s “Interstellar” starring Matthew McConaughey. Fanboys and Nolan-enthusiasts are sitting anxiously to feast their eyes on the film that’s rumored to be a cross between “Spielberg and Kubrick.” I have just received confirmation from a representative behind the awards campaign that Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway will be compete in Lead Actress.

As many have speculated, co-star Matthew McConaughey will compete in Lead Actor while Jessica Chastain will make a run for Supporting Actress. Early word is that both are the “real deal.”

Nolan, and his brother Jonathan, will have another go in Original Screenplay after two nominations for “Memento” and “Inception.” He’s also widely believed to be FINALLY a contender for Best Director after missing out on too many mentions including the nonsensical snub for “The Dark Knight.”
Annie, babe.

Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if she gets nominated before Matthew- The best Actress lineup is by far the weakest of all the categories.

^ I think it's more of them moving Anne to Lead to avoid splitting votes with Chastain who is their best shot for a nomination. The performance buzz seem to be around her (and Matt) which is understandable since their characters are the heart and soul of the film. I do agree with you about Matt/Anne though as I think both the actress categories are weak this year.

This is only a two horse race right now. Pike and Moore. But I hope Anne makes it in. :o
