Is this a film still? Or just something someone made?

'Interstellar,' 'Big Hero 6' Lift Off in Tracking for Possible $60M Debut
2:25 PM PST 10/22/2014 by Pamela McClintock

The pair of films, opening Nov. 7 in North America, make for a promising start to the year-end box office season; 'Dumb and Dumber To' also strong in early tracking

Christopher Nolan's space epic Interstellar and Disney's animated family film Big Hero 6 could both approach $60 million in their North American debuts over the Nov. 7-9 weekend in a major win for Hollywood as the year-end holiday season approaches (it also portends a close race).

Tracking suggests a range of $50 million to $60 million for each, but most box office observers are betting on the high end. Either way, they could find themselves in a close race.

Interstellar, which opens in select theaters two weeks from now on Nov. 5 before rolling out everywhere Nov. 7, is generating at least as much interest as last year's space epic Gravity, which opened to $55.8 million. Nolan, architect of The Dark Knight trilogy, is far more of a known brand that Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron was when Gravity was released.
Nolan's last movie, Inception, launched to $62.8 million domestically in July 2010, but Paramount insiders caution that Inception had the advantage of playing in summer. Paramount partnered with Warner Bros. on Interstellar, which cost $165 million to make (Nolan reportedly came in $10 million under budget).

Interstellar stars Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway as astronauts trying to save the human race. The ensemble cast also includes Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine. Paramount is handling the movie domestically, while Warners has overseas duties.

Big Hero 6, likewise a sci-fi tale that opens Nov. 7, hopes to continue Disney Animation Studios's winning streak at the box office following last year's Frozen. Inspired by Marvel characters, the film follows the adventures of six superheroes who are recruited by the government to protect the nation. Jamie Chung, T.J. Miller, Josh Hutcherson, Samuel L. Jackson, Freddie Highmore and Maya Rudolph lend their voices to the movie.

Last year, Frozen debuted to $67.4 million the weekend before Thanksgiving.

That Nolan and his going-under-the-budget act.

Nolan proves yet again he is the most efficient filmmaker in Hollywood.

It's weird to see Nolan apart of the promo curcuit so heavily this time (In terms of magazine shoots, etc). It's seems like something he'd hope to avoid.

They are really trying to push him as a brand.

There were already hints of it when WB was pushing TDKR during the awards season but this time I expect him to fully work the awards circuit. It helps too that he's surrounded by a cast that actually enjoys the campaigning process and doing the promo rounds.

A dig at Bale and Hardy?

I don't think Hardy overly minds doing the promo rounds and Bale's reluctance certainly doesn't hinder him when it comes to awards season.

What I did find strange was this statement from Nolan regarding McConaughey:

"I've never worked with an actor so relentless in his pursuit of truth in everything he does," added Nolan. "This is a performer who can't say 'Pass the salt' without it being truthful, without it meaning something."

That seems to dismiss Bale slightly, who I consider to be the far superior actor in almost every regard. Hmm, I don't know... perhaps I'm just reading into it.

Yeah I doubt he meant anything by it. He worked with Bale on 4 films and said he would happily work with him again after TDKR. In fact I think he said he hoped to.

Nah I didn't mean it that way. I just meant that it's easier to add Nolan to the promotions as well because he has a cast who don't mind and enjoy doing press rounds. Bale only does the bare minimum. He still looks like a press addict though when you compare him to say Joaquin Phoenix. :funny: Di Caprio does more press but it's still not as much as say those like Bradley Cooper or in this case McC or Hathaway who I feel actually enjoy the process.

Came in under budget again lol. The WB financial department must love Nolan, his last 4 films have come in under budget.

He deliberately asks for more money than necessary... just to make himself look good. :o

The man will get his directing oscar nom. :o

And so he should... He's arguably the most consistent director working today.

Something tells me McConaughey will be in Nolan's next movie as well.
