Hopefully, we'll have those up here.

So Edelstein gave it a positive review but his review cites "wonky physics."

First off.. what the hell does he know about physics? And second.. Kip Thorne. The science/math is probably the least of the movie's problems.

Is every review that doesn't call it perfect going to be argued against?

I don't even like that critic BTW.

Kip Thorne, not infallible. Also, though input was given, that doesn't mean it all made it all into the film.

Jurassic Park had paleontologist advisers, still ended up with 6 foot feathorless raptors.

And was all the better for it.

Well, Thorne is an executive producer. I don't recall Horner having that tag on Jurassic Park . Also, a large "raptor" was unearthed in Montana around that time and it was thought to be a new species -- Crichton, Spielberg AND Horner loved the idea and ran with it.

Yes I forgot that special rule, thanks for reminding me Darth. What would I do without you?
My money is on getting banned after a rant of epic proportions. It would probably look a little something like this.

I'll have you know that my epic rants are my trademark. And believe it or not I've calmed down a lot over the past 4 or 5 years.

And that is what scares us all Sundance. That is what scares us all.

The physics in the movie are speculative, not wonky.

We don't know that worm holes exist. They're exact solutions to the Einstein-Hilbert equations, that doesn't guarantee their existence.

I'm sure that most journalists won't get the difference.

Probably. Quantum mechanics to most laymen...hell even to scientists...quantum mechanics look like some kind of alice in wonderland acid trip ****. And theoretical wormhole and black hole physics and the dilation of time and space is no less strange. The avergae movie goer will likely think this movie's science is a load of sci-fi BS.

Even if the science is incorrect, and we don't actually know if worm holes exist, the science here will still be internally coherent, and is thus different from say Guardians of the Galaxy.

Yup...the movie will have an internal logic, and the speculative sci-fi aspect will be based on things that are actually being speculated by theoretical astrophysicists. With a few small liberties here and there I'm sure.

That's all I've ever wanted from this movie. I WANT this movie to go to some trippy places.

I'm not so sure. Some reviews seem to suggest that the final 30 minutes go in a direction that sort of abandons all the science for sake of story. Not sure to what extent but something definitely goes crazy in the final 30 minutes.

Also there is another screening today at some point. I know some of the internet personalities such as John Campea of AMC and Schmoes Know see it today.

Is this going to become another Inception deal with "you're just not smart enough to get it if you don't like it". South Park basically ran with that when it came out.

Considering that nobody who's reviewed this movie so far is any sort of authority on these things...I'll be interested to read Thorne's The Science of Interstellar before I write anything off as baseless nonsense.

Not everything can be understood and appreciated by the lowest common denominator.

Everybody understands thus becayse we all have films we appreciate as grown ups that we would have found boring as kids.
