If youre a fan of the Spider-man movies you'll love this episode. It was full of winks to the films.
I liked it a lot, it was more mature and its great ep. Not as good as last Saturdays episode but still awesome.

Ok, if some doubters still believe that the 1990's cartoon is better after seeing this episode, I'll have to fight off the urge to smack them upside the head!

This show is undoubtedly the best thing that has happened to Spidey since Spider-Man 2. When do the DVDs come out, again?

OMG!!! This episode blew me away. I loved how Peters' attitude changed, how Brock lost everything, the flashbacks, Uncle Ben, and homages to Amazing Fantasy #15 the Spidey films, and the cover to ASM Issue #200. I also lvoed the ending with Venom. He looks and sounds perfect!

This was the BEST transformation from Eddie to Venom. He accepts the symbiote, and it's hatred for Pete and Spidey. Best episode in Spidey Animation, HANDS DOWN. This was the episode Josh was talking about. INCREDIBLE,,,, SPECTACULAR

Because of repeated things happening to the ESU Bio-Genetics Lab (Lizard, Electro, symbiote theft) they lose their extra grant money and have to downsize, so Eddie is fired. Without the job he doesn't have the money to go to ESU. He goes to blame Peter for this and Venomized Peter shoves him around and tells him to get lost. Then when Spidey brings the suit back at the end Brock is there clearing out his stuff when he sees him. He's happy he brought the alien back but then Peter destroys it using lab equipment. Brock is now mega-pissed since he has nothing left and says Spidey and Peter are both equally bad. The symbiote really isn't dead and bonds to him, and he realizes Peter and Spidey are the same and we see a montage of the bad things Peter did to Eddie, they merge and become Venom.

Much better Leaps and bounds ahead of 616 and SM-3.

Just an AWESOME AWESOME episode! What an awesome way to give us an origin episode! Loved the mix of the comic and movie for the origin (also glad it was Crusher Hogan!)!

Loved the scene between MJ & Gwen! Well written! Looks like we are going to get Pete & Gwen!

Liked adding to Eddie's hatred. Those who felt he wasn't justified should be happy now.

Anyone catch that Pete had to sign a contract with Sullivan Edwards?

This is undoubtedly THE Spider-Man series!!!

Yes, agree! It was almost like a season ending clip show, but done much better and definitely justified!

This was one of the best episodes to date. I loved every freaking second of it.

Now for today's episode man it was wicked sweet. Good episode. I loved how they mixed aspects of the movies and the classic 616 comics on the flashback/origin scenes. It was also great to see uncle ben finally. I thought his voice actor was pretty good too a nice old man voice. The internal battle between spidey and the symboite was great too. Also great to see mj and gwen getting along more and her pushing gwen to tell peter her true feelings. They are likely to have them finally hook up in season 2. We know they are not planing to kill her off anytime soon. Also the bonding of eddie to venom was sick.

And Ben's voice was Edward Ashner aka JJ from 90s series. I just looked at the credits with my dvr recording.

I'm always partial for anything with the Goblin, but, yeah, this episode sort of blew me away! (Funny, when Spidey faces off with the symbiote, we see all his friends coming behind him and it included Norman).

Yeah and as far as Peter knows Norman actually was all sweet to Harry in "Uncertainty".

I was surprised they didn't have Peter beat up Flash, and a little disappointed. But I guess they wanted to do something different by having Flash just be honest with him and tell him that he's just some arrogant egghead who acts like he's better than everyone. I guess that's the source of Flash's dislike of him.
