if you type in Spectacular Spider-man Intervention on google, you should see something

This episode was truly SPECTACULAR, I can't wait for Venom! :sym:

i need a direct link.. PJBoy where are you.. lol

No they just took the biggest aspect of raimi's origin story that's all which was his horribly muddled and misinterpretation of why Peter became Spider-man.

He became Spider-Man to make money and that's what this origin showed; it didn't muddle it with the "trying to impress MJ" angle.

Peter being bad under the influence of the symbiote was done perfectly. This is how it should be done, folks. Not Peter making his hair emo, and strutting down the street making hand gestures at women, or dry humping the air in jazz clubs. This is the real dark Peter.

ah ah ah let's not forget about the eye liner...
weirrrrd. :csad:

I never thought I'd say it...but as kiddy as a cartoon this show looks. I've come to respect the designs and I enjoy it more so than the movies. :spidey:

Parts of it were done nicely but it also missed the mark where it counts. If he had that encounter with Brock and went overboard and that led him to going up to the tower it'd be more dramatic then just dodging a phone call and swinging up there in the daylight. Also, he wouldnt shut the hell up making jokes and getting into a diss battle with the symbiote when he was ripping it off. "Consider this a break up, ooze-a-rino!! *FART*". SM3 may have used comedy excessively with the black suit before the tower scene but they knew enough to keep that scene completely serious.

I prefer the movie playing it for laughs to get to that climatic super sweet backhand over what SSM did, but it was a really good episode anyway.

The episode was good until Brock ended up getting the symbiote to bond with him at Connor's lab. Why skip over Brock getting it at the church?

PETE WAS THERE! Brock could've went there like in the movie, completely scorned, humiliated, broke with no money, no chance of a diploma and scholarship, just complete loser and the only thing he can do is turn to God. Then, he sees Pete in pain trying to release himself from the symbiote and goes, "Parker....?" and then you know the rest.

But nooooooo nope got to do with what they did with Shocker---change bits of the story but becomes the villain in the end. I don't mind changes or drawbacks but it's like Pete was there---why would it be so hard to not have Brock come through the doors and before he sits down at the pew, or goes into the confessional box he hears Pete screaming and decides to go and investigate and then gets gooped.

Wow, you are pleased with how they handled Eddie's transition to Venom. I hope you give this Venom a chance:up:.

I'm already sold on him. Just don't go the anti-hero route with him, keep him a villain, and we're good!

I actually didn't mind that Eddie turned into Venom at the Lab. Changing Shocker's origin bothered me more. But I'm not too pissed because he's simply awesome in the show.

Anyway, back to Brock. I liked how he got to interact with the suit before it took over and released it. I think it's a nice change. Instead of getting taking over against his will and then embracing it, he fully embraces it from the start.

I just wonder what will happen to Venom when Spidey defeats him. Will he find a way to remove the symbiote like he did in TAS? Or will Venom end up in another cell build by Norman?

OMG!!! This episode blew me away. I loved how Peters' attitude changed, how Brock lost everything, the flashbacks, Uncle Ben, and homages to Amazing Fantasy #15 the Spidey films, and the cover to ASM Issue #200. I also lvoed the ending with Venom. He looks and sounds perfect! :wow::up:

Agreed, man. I think the final nail has just been driven into the 90's series. :word:

What a fantastic show. I feel like grabbing those *******s currently writing the comic and forcing them to watch this over and over again until they learn.

The Ed Asner guest spot....the Peter/Eddie confrontation at the hospital...the incredible homage to AF #15...dudes, im 43 years old, and that scene gave me goosebumps. :wow:

Best of all; this show has my daughter and nephew scrambling to read all my back issues.

'nuff said. :word:

Oh, an Uncle Ben intervening with the symbiote in the dream sequence was top-notch! When Ben merged with Peter, then all of Peter's friends did the same thing...THEN the classic pose from ASM #100...i completely flipped out, lol..

This episode needs to win some sort of award.

JUst watched it on youtube...yup...i need to change my pants

This was absolutely, hands down, the most powerful of all the episodes! So many easter eggs and pieces of eye-candy for the comic fans!!! It was perfection...the characterization was spot on, the storyline felt natural, and the emotion was raw and really had a presence.

I also loved how it seamlessly blended elements from Amazing Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man, and the Spider-Man movies to create a fresh take on the origin story. Fantastic!!! :spidey::up:

I have to wonder what will be Venom's motivation for not revealing Peter's ID to the world. Hopefully better than whatever nonsense reason it was in the comics.

At least with Norman and Harry it made sense that Peter would turn it around and reveal who THEY were if they tried it with him, Eddie doesn't have much of a life left to be exposed.

I liked this episode my only niggle was, I kinda wish Peter had unmasked to Eddie when he was returning the symbiote.

I thought it was ok, but I hated how they cribbed a whole lines word for word from the movies. I see the movies, like the show, as an interpretation of the original source material, the comics. But by cribbing lines from the movies, which were for the most part good, it makes it seem like the movies are canon, which they aren't.

Given the state of the comics right now we don't know what is and isn't canon anymore. Nothing wrong with letting the movies become part of it.

I'm already sold on him. Just don't go the anti-hero route with him, keep him a villain, and we're good!

I kinda like the anti hero idea with this characterization of brock. It actually kinda fits. The only problem with it is that it takes away from how terrifying he can be.

Ock was willing to slaughter people at Coney Island (sp?) just to get a power pack. Spiderman wouldn't have to worry about that crap from Venom.

I'd almost love to see Venom go into the spotlight. Showing peter up as a better hero. making himself out to be a good guy, and casting Spider-man into a bad light.

Actually these might not be great ideas. I'm effectively just kinda ranting now. sorry.
