Symbiote acting on its own while Peter's asleep is a bit different from him being wide awake while it's pumping its nonsense into his brain, because in the latter case he has awareness over what's happening.

I'm not so sure about that, I mean sometimes UltimateJustin is like that.:cwink:

I will agree that Peter never did anything insanely bad; but what is so hard for you guys to understand, that compassion is not just a bunch of empty words?
The girls were probably for real, but on the otherhand, I don't think its too far out of Parker's character to get upset and cause a scene like that. He usually flips out and doesn't know what to do when someone he loves is in trouble, and he gets really emotional. When I think of Peter Parker not in Spiderman garb, I picture him walking around the street going on whining like Anakin about how helpless a situation is. I think confronted by his friends during a time of crisis, regular Parker wouldn't be stable enough to just say "thanks." But I have a weird take on Peter that most people don't agree with and my favorite quote of his is "one please, with extra mustard!" so who knows.

so..wait..Peter was "Emo" all along? -gasp!!-

Dude, Peter isn't a loser. He may come off as one in his worst moments but he's a guy whose whole schtick is doing his best to make it through perpetual rough patches in his normal and Superhero lives.

A loser would go around whining, whereas Peter actually does his best to overcome stuff without becoming a total whiner.

agreed.

Well, I personally LOVED this episode. Great rendition of the Peter/symbiote fight, as well as alot of great character moments. Gwen/Mj, Peter/FLash, Peter/Eddie....and the hospital scene with Aunt May was great.

I just can't wait ti see how they handle Venom next week.

Oh, yeah, and the origin re-telling was the PERFECT mech of movie and classic. Loved every second of it.

I've always seen Peter as one who's emotions are controlled in a great way. Meaning he isn't completely clouded by them, like Eddie Brock, but he doesn't seperate himself from them. He also would probably be open to other's trying to help him emotionally. Like he warmed up to MJ, in the comics, when she started to comfort him about Gwen's death. I also saw the symbiote, in this show, as not necessarily enhancing his agression exculsively, but completely messing with his emotional state.

Ageed, the whiner is Eddie Brock's character. Which is what makes him a good antagonist.

It wasn't exclusively enhancing aggression. This symbiote was an emotional vampire that fed off of negative emotions. There's more to negative emotions than just aggression/anger.

Good antagonist, pathetic person.
Whatever, I like him. And if I were gay or bi and he were gay or bi and he were real or I were a cartoon, I'd date him or at least try to. And alot of people like Eddie Brock, the guy has a freaking motorcycle for starters.

I know it wasn't, that's what I said. It's just there's people who do think that.

Of course he's a pathetic person, that's what makes him so nasty.

...This is that "sarcasm" of yours again, I hope...

"Nasty" as in "yuck I don't want to be around this guy"? Otherwise, he can be nasty without being pathetic. Look at Norman and Otto.

They have their own personalities that make them bad, while Eddie has his. I mean Norman and Otto aren't the same, does that make one of them wrong?

"No."

And I don't really think Eddie Brock is pathetic, everybody has their flaws. The only time he was pathetic to me is currently in 616 and in Ult. when he tried to holla at Gwen but failed miserably. And in Spiderman 3 the book when he goes to Gwen's house and its really awkward. Other than that he is just unlucky.

No, but they both are nasty without being whiners who don't even explore other options in life when faced with adversity.

This is my least favorite episode of the entire series. Spidey blows off his friends....Is that it? I dunno, I would have thought they would have explored the Symbiote Spidey a little more, but it's like they cut it off early so they could welcome in Vemon, which IMO is the weaker of the Spidey villians. Plus, Brock's rage is so put on, it's like they made him angry just to make him angry. Should have saved this plot point for Season 2. But oh well.
Will you please read a few discussions on these topics, before making such staements?:csad:

Venom's life and character is really messed up, but that doesn't make him just a whiner, with no other charaterization. Anakin Skywalker was like Eddie Brock, does that make Darth Vader, just a whiner?

Darth Vader was a ***** :woot:

Darth Vader was a ***** :woot:
As funny as that is, I don't think the "whiner" character is weak. It will eventually develop into twisted values and desires. Eddie Brock doesn't/didn't have family like Peter has/had, so there's no one to motivate him, or teach him proper morals(in depth).

Because Vader doesn't whine about his dead wife and how the Jedi didn't treat him with respect and *****, whereas Venom whines about "Spidey ruined me! I was an innocent!" all the time.

And yeah, the prequels did lessen my respect of Vader a little seeing how his turn was based in such pansiness.

The reason guys like that turn bad, is because they have bad guidance in life. Eddie had none, so he was living off instinct.

Well they better explain that in the next episode or otherwise they'll have dropped the ball on this guy.
