The whining since a couple of days had nothing to do with this, the asian american for Iron Fist articles that are here since months maybe.

They won't change the story completly in couple days.
If he is there, he is planned since a long time.

Maybe they anticipated a lot of whining over the casting choice since that's the thing these days.

To be fair, that show WAS AMAZING AND DISNEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR ITS ENDING.

..... GDI, Zemo. You're my favorite purple puss...

To your point, they can absolutely come together. In fact, I prefer that, it's not a commonly portrayed part of their story, and is almost taken for granted.

By ending, do you mean its cancellation or the ending itself? I thought it ended on a decent note, it was just a shame it got only two years.

The thing that sums it best for me is it took a New Mutants Special Annual (or whatever it was called) and adapted it into a story with the Avengers where Tony Stark ended up with an Uru Metal Iron Man suit. It was a relatively obscure (but great) choice for source material, but it was substantially changed in a way that was still really, really cool. You need both true fans and great writers to pull that off.

Interesting. Looks like Ward and Joy Meachum and Colleen Wing. Devon is clearly either Steel Serpent of Shang-Chi but probably the latter since Steel Serpent has always been a bit ugly and I can't call him thoughtful or intelligent since he's an angry, resentful guy.
Hashtag show still believe in their rumors about Shang Chi, they think both Davos and Shang Chi are in the show.

But better wait till official news if the filming start in April, we should have official news soon, I guess.

Daredevil season 2 red carpet premier is tonight, I wonder if they'll confirm Finn jones casting tonight

Isn't it already confirmed? I know blogs usually run with any rumor, but EW is reporting it.

Marvel television in general is ahead of the movies. AoS has two Asian characters on the main cast and Skye/Daisy is pretty much right up there with Coulson as a main character.

They also have a Latino playing a lead and a Latina playing another lead (once they get them all together regularly). They are leaps and bounds ahead of the movies fo sho

Cap leads the Avengers as he has done for more than 40 years in the comics. It's one thing to ask for diversity and another to become paranoid and upset about comic book accuracy...

Aptly put. Nayt - you owned that guy lol. I look forward to discussing each episode of Iron Fist with you here friend!

marvel hasn't slipped yet on their casting . Everyone from Iron Man to Jessica Jones has been great or beyond . I have no doubt that Finn Jones knocked the auditions out of the park and won the role cause Marvel saw something awesome about him. I'm excited for this , Iron Fist is one of my favorite Marvel Characters. I hope it pulls from Fractions run, The Immortal Iron Fist as well as Andrews run The Living Weapon . I really like his new costume as well. It's modern and yet has a very old school vibe and calls back to the great Bruce Lee . As a matter of fact I really really hope this series evokes the spirit of classic Kung Fu movies from the 70s . I hope it can capture the magic

Totally this. I feel like they deserve the benefit of the doubt.

With Luke Cage set to air in September hopefully we'll get our first glimpse of Iron Fist in six months.

Your math does not add up. More importantly, if you're honestly trying to put forth the notion that the Avengers are racist because they are led by Captain America, or subsequently trying to insinuate that Steve Rogers is racist for being a white male straight leader, then you are a terrible comic book fan and should feel ashamed to even post here. For someone who's own casting call in their own signature has Danny as white, you seem to truly be rallying behind the idea of Danny as an Asian American to a petulant degree. What happened, did you lose a bet? Seriously, I can find a championing diversity and justice in societyas absolutely something to be proud of, but you come off more as a whining, petulant internet keyboard warrior in these types of posts, and your Avengers math is more offensive to me than anything that could possibly be derived from Danny's casting.

Really, the "You can't be a true fan and be critical of this" argument? You know I've always wondered, do you have to get a license for declaring who the "true" fans are or is it a hobby you pick up on your downtime? It seems like the kind of thing that should require three years higher education and at least two of sitting through lengthy trails for since you are, in effect, calling out a stranger's personal interests and opinions as being invalid but it seems like these days half the judges are just printing a degree off the internet with no real training at all.

I really hope they do include Wing. Part of it is because they did such a fabulous job with Trish and Jess but other than that, Darcy and Jane (who most fans are unreasonable vile towards), and Simmons and Daisy the MCU is sadly lacking in female friendships. Especially ones where both woman can kick ninja butt side by side, a traditional female-friend-bonding activity that superhero shows have really failed to give me.

Part of me just thinks of Luke, Danny, Misty, and Wing as being a big old family and wants them all together, though.

Fair enough; to your point, from a literal analysis of the base material, I do in fact call myself an expert with my three degrees, two of which include Mechanics of Writing in Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the other in English Education, of which I hold a license with additonal endorsements to teach literature from K-12 and some college courses. I do so admit, however, you are right, I hold neither a masters or doctorate. Silly me.

Still, permit me the moment to educate you on two matters, the first of which is your tone. That is a logical fallacy, called 'ad hominem,' meaning an attack on the speaker and not his message. If you truly just wished to challenge my credentials, do so, and drop the sanctimonious effort that was almost essentially a mirror of my own earlier parlay into degrading rhetoric. Now, if you wish to merely point out that my tone was rude to the poster in question, yes, it was. However, the multiple, previous attempts at logical communication were met with silence until a further chance at later backbiting and whining comments. I lost my patience.

Secondly, the case in point, Captain America leading the Avengers is not racist. If one wanted to argue Steve Rogers as being White would be considered racist, I would argue that it is a matter of historic fact that the powerful majority in 1940s America was white male Christians, who selected Rogers not just as an experiment, but as a symbol. At most, race factors into his selection, but it is no more racist than films such as Selma or American History X. As for Rogers specifically as the leader of the Avengers, even more ludicrous. Rogers held the team together after it fractured, and rebooted within the first 20 issues with an unkillable spirit, and the drive to give second chances to Quicksilver, Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch. It was his soul that gave the team heart then, and his mind and tactical strategy that gave it direction almost constantly since. If you need further evidence of both, read the original Secret Wars series, that displays Cap being the unanimous leader of Marvel's heroes and respected by many viians, not for his race, but his spirit, his drive, his heart. That, good poster, is why calling it racist or insinuating as such is a ridiculous concept, race has nothing to do with his role.

Your second point is agreed upon, fully. Misty and Colleen are just as amazing, and important to my personal viewing, as the friendship between Danny and Luke.

hopefully that casting list of characters is right. Like others have said with the show likely filming in the next 1-3 months we will likely know officially what is what in the next few weeks to next month. Also with cage airing in sept we likely will see iron fist dropping around feb or march next yr with filming during this summer. Then Defenders likely filming this fall and airing aug/sept next yr. Then from there we likely will have 2 of the 4 shows filming another season during 2017 with 2018 release widows.

So maybe they keep it at 2 a year before Defenders. One imagines they will have to step up how many a year if they want new seasons for Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and then Punisher and whatever else they are planning.

I mean, Punisher just seems like a shoe-in for Netflix. I mean Bernthal is on board, and that character is tailor made for the Marvel/Netflix format.

Well like with films going to 3 a yr soon. I am sure if they have the time and budget to handle 3 filming at rotating times we could see 3 shows filming at any given time and so forth.

I honestly think they should get to a schedule with a show ever other month or three months. Seriously, the Netflix shows are doing BANK for Netflix, and Marvel. No show that gets greenlit for season 2 that fast, with that type of fast track and reaction, isn't doing gangbusters.

Granted, that could be hopeful thinking.

Not that I can load the link (don't know if it's traffic or what - but it keeps timing out for me) - but given the name of the URL "finn_jones_to_star_in_the_netflix_original_series_marvels_iron_fist", it looks like it's now *officially* confirmed for Finn Jones.

Edit: The link should work now... I wonder if they tweeted before the article had actually been published *lol*
