I actually think (DD Season 2 spoiler) [BLACKOUT]Foggy has a good chance showing up considering he accepted a job from Hogarth. She implied she wanted him to work on "unique" cases. Seems like she's looking to corner the superhuman law market. So I feel like Foggy will show up now and again for any netflix show.[/BLACKOUT]

Using Hogarth would be a good opportunity to show her softer side. Her looking out for Danny and offering him a little guidance due to her past with the Rands would bring a different dynamic to the character than the one we saw with Jessica Jones.

I will say this many times as we get closer to release but I can't believe we're getting an Iron Fist tv show. As my 2nd favorite superhero, I'm ****ing happy. Fingers crossed it's going to be good.

IF fans, any comic book moment that you'd like or expect in the TV show? Me I just want Danny to be witty and relaxed even in danger. Of course if Luke Cage is going to appear, a banter between them is gold.

I think Iron Fist has better villains. Khan is arguably a racially insensitive character.

I really hope we get some BOOK OF THE IRON FIST material and some peeks at the previous holders of the title. I guess that might be asking too much given what they spend on these Netflix shows. Still... The mystical city stuff is so important to me.

Agreed. I could see a decent adaptation, going with an ancient sorcerer. Adjusted, naturally, for the genre.

Maybe a fallen Sorcerer Supreme? The timing would be right - Dr. Strange will be out end of this year, we're looking at IF spring of 17.

That seems like an EXCELLENT idea to me.

I think the problem is Khan's look and mannerisims, more than anything. The idea of an Asian wizard is not racist in and of itself, nor is it a common fictional stereotype.

Yeah I don't think pulling a Mandarin is necessary for every character that has dipped or even been drenched in the pool of stereotype. Just make them intelligent and formidable characters with some cool thrown in. Shave off the stuff that is out and out "racist" and the rest will take care of itself I say.

How do you update Master Khan without offending Asian civil rights groups?

The same way you update Black Mariah without offending Black civil right groups. Make the characters three-dimensional and tone down the racist elements from the comic version. There's nothing wrong with having an evil Asian sorcerer, unless you're somehow implying that Asians can't be villains. Plus, Master Khan has always been more of a character who happened to be Asian as opposed to the Mandarin, Fu Manchu, or Yellow Claw who were defined by their race.

It's all about execution and balance. If Marvel writes Master Khan well, as well as casting Asians in other non-stereotypical roles, then it works out.
