Looks like show is surprisingly great and on par with DD S1(At least for first 6 episodes)

When is Review embargo lifting

Never trust Wilding. he lives for controversy. he would say SS is better than Civil War just to get clicks. That said, the show will probably be good to great. marvel is the king of comic book tv shows.

Well to be fair, his opinion on the Netflix shows seems to be more in line with that of a lot of fans and critics. I happen to think both DD S2 and LC were more compelling than DD S1. But many still view DD S1 as having set the standard that has yet to be matched. It's interesting that Wilding says IF is right up there with DD S1, because the latter didn't really become engaging to me until about episode 4. I hope IF isn't *that* much of a slowburn. I don't get that impression but we'll see.

There hasn't one generally disliked MCU Netflix show. of course the DD S1 is difficult to be matched. That doesn't mean that what comes after it can't be great on it's own terms. Fans can hold standards and restrict themselves as much as they want. if a show is good, it's good. I don't care if it matches x season of the x show.

I liked DD season1 from start to finish, I feel it is #1 for me just for that reason.
I do feel that DD2 and LC would have past it easily if not for the 2nd half slips. DD2 was great with Punisher, but Elektra near the end being so involved dropped it a bit for me. LC I loved but I preferred Cottonmouth as the villain, I just didn't get too involved with Diamonback.
Now I feel JJ was also very good because of Kilgrave all the way through.

I expect Iron Fist to bring it and be a good watch.

This gif Marvel released today is pretty cool.

I saw this today on a Facebook page ... what do you think? Appereantly, it's a shot from the Doctor Strange, where the Rand building is visible.

I think it's pretty much a given there won't be one at this stage. Real shame too.

I don't get this "still no costume" complaint. We know if he gets one it'll be in the last episode and they won't show it in any advertising. No point moaning about it until March 17.

This begs the question, how hard would it really be to do some inserts of Avengers Towers in the cityscapes for these shows? Since they've yet to do it.

So your assumption beats our assumption. Good to know.

I will try to explain it to you. As a longtime fan of Iron Fist, I love his costume and look, and I really hope it would make it into the film to some degree. However, often times the films and TV shows like to tend to dress the characters down for the sake of "realism" at the cost of iconography. I don't always really like that.

Also, as someone viewing the shows, the gimmick with constantly avoiding putting the actors in the iconic costume until the end is getting a bit tiresome and annoying. It comes off that they hate the costumes and are doing everything in their power to avoid them.

If most of the Punisher TV series has him never wearing the Skull symbol, I will also be disheartened.

It's fine if you don't agree and you are cool with it as is. It's just how I feel about it on a personal level. Spider-Man isn't Spider-Man without the red and blue tights.

Didn't say that; nice inferring.

Point was that we don't know if there's a costume or not - I doubt there's one too - but it's not surprising it's absent from marketing if there is one given the format of the shows and the way costumes have been marketed before.

I think we would have seen a costume by now with them filming Defenders and I don't see any good reason to say one would be in the last episode if at all.

Well first off I believe the tower that's circled (The Bank of America Tower) is different from the building Danny is looking at (not sure which building that is). The architecture doesn't match, I think that picture is just a nyc establishing shot. Second Avengers tower is a fictional structure that doesn't actually exists in reality, taking the place of the met life building. The Bank of America Tower is real. It's not like Dr Strange added another fictional tower as a very subtle foreshadow for Iron Fist. The Netflix series uses actual locations to cut down on budget.

The reason why they don't have Avengers Tower is because every frame with it is money they could have used on sets, stunts, and special effects. For arguments sake lets just say to get a quality job done for NYC establishing shots that includes Avengers Tower, the cost would end up being $100 per frame (a number I am pulling out of my ass for arguments sake). Lets say you want 10 different shots lasting 5 seconds, 30fps to use. You just spent $150,000 that could have gone somewhere else. So that's why we don't see the Tower in Neflix. Dr Strange has a much higher budget that could justify one shot with it.

I don't see why, the production has been pretty good on keeping leaks like that secret. I don't recall Daredevil or Elektra having any leaks of the costume before the promotional materials were released. The only set leak I can think of is Diamondback's costume from the final fight of Luke Cage.

Some guy made a video with the Avengers tower in shots on his own without the company help

Huge fan of Iron Fist, don't really care about the costume either.

He always fight topless in the comics.

He'll get the costume at the end of the series and in Defenders. Just like DD and Punisher.

I mean this guy did it with basically no budget and it looks fairly convincing. How hard would it be for Marvel to do it?

I'm starting to really hope you won't get to review the show because somehow i see you reduct points just because he won't have a costume :o

In all seriousness the only one making such a big deal constantly is you. And be repeating it you hope it to become a bigger issue as it is. It has zero effect to the quality of the show and people can perfectly enjoy it and ask for more if Danny fights in hobo clothes in all 13 episodes.

Worry about choregraphy, or villains, or stunts of performances, i get it. The costume is trivial.

:whatever:

I agree the costume subject is tiresome at this point. I prefer to not dwell on it and be pleasantly surprised if there is one towards the end of the season or in Defenders.
