Endgame Iron Man/Tony Stark - Robert Downey Jr

And I'm really glad we ended on this suit too. it was the best hybrid of older marks and newer ones. the gold looked perfect. i couldn't put my finger on why i wasnt loving his infinity war suit and that was it.

I don't even remember what Iron Man's Endgame suit looked like. Did it have a circular or triangular arc reactor? What was the ratio of red to gold? They all start to blend into one.

if you go to page 2 you see him suiting up in it. looks fantastic

After no scenes between them in Infinity War, I hoped we got something more between Stark and Rhodey. Like actual dialogue or them fighting together. A Fail IMO.

Rhodey’s tears at the funeral were touching and his presence at the final scene with Pepper and Spidey were good at least. I would have loved a teamup of Stark, Rhodey and Pepper in their suits.

It looks so much better than in IW. The nanobot suit was cool but in the street when he's about to go toe to toe with Black Dwarf the CGI was way off. Especially how it enveloped his head. I'm glad they went back to the face/mask part clicking over his face.

That would have been great if Rhodey was involved as well but I will say when Stark and Pepper are back to back spinning while shooting repulsors, that got some great audience reactions.

edit; should have multi-quoted.

Loved that moment. Pepper showing up was so awesome.

Frankly I thought the little we saw of Pepper and Tony in AEG was some of Paltrow's best work in the part.

I agree! I was really happy Rescue was thrown in the movie. Funny thing is, when their daughter comes out of the tent outside and is wearing the mask/helmet I didn't even think about Rescue. No idea how that didn't cross my mind at the time.

I think that goes along with the precision the Russos brought to this movie's storytelling.

There were so many times on first watch that because I was so engrossed with what was happening at that moment that I totally forgot some element that they let me know of beforehand but I didn't concentrate on or it was out of mind because I was so into what was happening on screen at the moment.

Like with the heroes returning. They let us know that they had succeeded in bringing everyone back through the call Clint receives. But that was not at all in my head seeing Cap march off to certain death against Thanos' forces. I really was all "Well.. I guess Cap is gonna eat it." And then... "On your left." Even a moment later when Giant-Man busts out with Hulk, Rocket and War Machine... I had forgotten that Scott had been on his way to rescue them.

So it was the same with Rescue. It's way at the halfway point of the first act but Tony tells us he's building something for Pepper but until she lands I never even thought about the Rescue armor being part of the action.

I loved that scene with the 2 of them back to back (what we got from Pepper in general was better than all of her showings in the MCU put together!) . I would have loved that same exact scene to then have War Machine come flying in wrecking shop, and then go 3 back to back before flying off in some kind of formation while unleashing a mega payload on the Outriders and Chitauri.

It'd have worked really well f they did it.

He's advanced so far with his armor but I would have liked an old fashion suit up with a gantry because that's what makes iron man cool. It's iconic imagery

Maybe see his hall of armor one last time since he's made 35 more suits

The man had mariachis serenade his lunch guests on set. What a class act. :crso:

The scene where he’s barely able to say goodbye. It was so tragic, sad and almost so realistic at the same time. He was struggling to say anything, struggling to acknowledge anyone, it was like things weren’t quite registering for him, that’s how overwhelmed he became after the snap. Gwenyth’s acting was simply superb. She was lightning in this scene. Touching unique dialogue, brilliant acting, the culmination of their decade long cinematic relationship on screen. It made me well up big time and I hardly get emotional during a film. The moments between Stark and Pepper were perfection in cinema.

Yeah, the power of the scene was precisely because RDJ's Tony is silent. It's everyone around him who makes you feel the death. And I agree, Paltrow's Pepper was probably the best she's ever been in her few short scenes in AEG.
