Is America Overrated?

I did for about five years, due to less than desirable circumstances witch I shall not get into I had to move back. It’s not that the land itself is bad it’s the damned people…

• Why is Texas so great? Because it's big? You ever notice that Alaska never seems to mention how awesome it is...
• Bible Belt
• Dumb ass citizens that think Texas will be allowed to leave the union due to some side note in the state constitution that was put in place back in the 1800's.
• Again, why is Texas so great? Because it once had cowboys in it? Certainly Wyoming, Montana, Oklahoma and others didn't have **** loads of cowboys in them, no sir.

Texas is great for many reasons. Alaska never mentions how great it is because they are so content with their year round winter. Texas can leave the union, it was the only state in the 50 that had its own government and president. Will it, no because we will be invaded. There is a reason why the Texas flag can be flown at the same height as the American flag unlike any other state. Yes, cowboys made Texas...you are exactly right.

Texas was granted statehood via a treaty that was to be renewed every year. This treaty has not been renewed in over 100+ years.

Do you know how many people Texas don’t know that? Besides, they seem to live in a fantasy land where they think the United States would let one of their largest producers of products and taxes leave.

Let me make one thing clear: I'm not American. I will not say I live in America. If anything, I live in North America, and I am Canadian.

But I would rather shoot myself than be referred to as an American.

I don't like being called american either, because I don't live in the US, and that's what US citizens are called, I live in South America, still a part of America, but we're not called americans, and it kind of bothers me that the title of americans ended up referring to only one country, and not to a whole continent. You don't see the french referring to themselves as europeans ...well, they might, but you get what I mean....t:

Depends on how thick they are...better than a Jersey accent or an annoying as hell thick British accent. Australian accents on ladies are pretty hot and so are Brazilian A light southern accent is becoming on my ladies.

Not when it is thick like that tv show Katie and Peter...its the light British accent that is nice...but not the thick one.

Just like there are different regional southern accents. Some are hickishly off putting while others are sweet and delicate.

i am an American and I've always wondered whats so great about it.... I hear everyone saying its the greatest country in the world and how lucky i am to live here blah blah blah... but seriously i have no idea what makes America so great. Is it because we have the most weapons? pff i don't know about you, but for me war doesn't make one great.
I know there are a lot of poor country's out there, and America would be far better to live in then there. but compared to other wealthy county's, what makes America better?

i really don't know much about politics, so maybe someone here wants to put me in my place, while educating me at the same time? a good ol' superherohype political lecture maybe?

There are alot of bad things about this country but regardless of it all, this is the best place in the world for Hamburgers and donuts.

I can’t stand it when people from other countries try to criticize America, even when I agree with them. Nope, but we’re the only people allowed to ***** about how stupid our country is. I know it’s an illogical thing but I think most America’s that feel the same way about the country as I do agree.

That's precisely what's wrong with it. "Oh, we can go around the world and do whatever we want, sticking our face in other peoples' business, but nobody can say anything or else we'll hit you."

the best way to find this out for yourself is to go live in some other countries for a while.
i've spent a good portion of my life in europe, mostly Ireland, but i've always agreed that America is the best country if for no other reason than it's my native land (where i was born) and i love it.

Ireland has some of the best quality of living that I’ve ever seen. I can’t say the same about Harlem or Detroit.
