Is it just me or is the tide of opinion turning on this movie?

If DB's going to do well at the BO it needs to pull in more than just people who frequent 2 major blog sites.

imdb and youtube are a better judge of general consensus than dbthemovie and dragonballmovieblog are. the DB:E blogs are obviously going to be comprised of mostly only fans of the show or just general anime. you won't find many people who don't watch either DB or anime at those sites.....however, youtube and imdb are comprised of a more wide variety of audiences ranging from people who are pleased by almost everything to entertainment's harshest critics.


if you want elite fan opinions then you look at the DB:E blogs, but if you want opinions of people who aren't normally into anime or DB then you look elsewhere (SHH is a good place).

I won't be. Not unless it gets glowing reviews. Just because it is has the name Dragonball on it doesn't mean it is worth watching (look at Dragonball GT for proof of that).

Go ask Batman fans if they appreciated Batman & Robin or Catwoman. Because this movie doesn't look that far off.

despite many critics being overly critical, there are a few critics and sites that are fairly dependable. at any rate, i find it ironic that you make fun of him for listening to other people's opinions, then you give him yours (to go see it) as if he should listen to you as well.

Its kind of ironic that the trailer for this movie is getting positive reactions in movie theaters, yet the so called "true fans" and "movie critics" are the ones being negative.

Its from Brazil, some guy video taped the trailer and said people in the theater loved it, except for 1 person, but the rest loved it. The same thing is happening in many countries. Even here in Venezuela, I showed the trailer to my gf and many other people who dont care about Dragonball, and they liked it and are interested in watching the movie.

Whats wrong with you guys? Why do you still hate it? Just because Goku isnt asian or Bulma´s hair isnt completely blue? What has happened? Just enjoy the movie like a normal person would, stop being so negative.

i don't feel the urge of goku being asian or bulma having blue hair....and i bet if i weren't a db fan i would have loved this movie as messed up as it is cuz not knowing the real story i wouldn't have had a comparison term( and what one does not know, it won't harm him)-so everything would look amazing to me ....just like transformers and iron man did...btw i like to think i'm not one of those haters(i don't even consider myself a hater...just a disappointed pessimistic) who say that their statements are pure truth,''everybody else is heretic''

Why should I see a movie that looks like crud AND the vast majority of people who have already seen it confirm it? It isn't like I'm solely basing this on reviews. But I will need something to even suggest this is something other than complete garbage to think about paying to go see it.

BTW, I don't care about minor things like Goku being white or Bulma not having the proper hair colour. I don't even care much about Roshi being completely changed (let's face it, he's a pretty minor character). But the film itself just looks horrific, at least going by the trailer and the track record of the studio, actors, writers and director is not very good to say the least. I might be wrong, in which case I will be the first to admit, but I've seen this sort of thing happen too many times to count before (Batman & Robin, Catwoman, The Spirit, Battlefield Earth, Ghost Rider, etc.) with fans defending it right up until the time of release and the naysayers are proven right. Odds are very much against this being any good.
