This woman is all kinds of stupid. For one thing, she calls Santa a mockery of Jesus when the character (who is obviously based on St. Nicholas) was given those attributes by CHRISTIANS in
reference to Jesus/God. Does she read the Chronicles of Narnia and think that the character of Aslan is meant to
mock Jesus?
I really think she's shooting herself in the foot here. She's justifying telling her kids that Santa's not real by not wanting them to doubt Christianity, but what if she just makes them skeptical about it that much earlier by telling them the truth? If they are inclined to be skeptical, they are going to ask questions like that anyway, and there's nothing she can do about it. Plus, they'll look back on what a psycho fundie she was by not even letting them have some fun with believing in Santa like all the other kids got to.
My parents told me that Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, etc. were real and I don't consider them to be evil liars. These are just harmless, fun traditions, and I plan to pass them on to my kids if I ever have any.
I think she's also stupid for not celebrating Halloween because it has "dark connotations." It only has that if you bring that to it. A lot of people aren't even aware of the pagan roots of it, and you can keep the kids away from the scarier/"haunted" houses if that is a huge concern for you. Hell, you can take the kids to a retirement home for Halloween. You know the older people there won't be dressed up as Leatherface and they'll get a kick out of seeing the kids. Some of the local hotels here also have special Halloween events where they give out candy in their lobbies, have games for the kids, etc. There are lots of alternatives to door to door trick 'r treating if you're concerned about "dark"/scary imagery or safety issues. People like this woman take things too seriously and suck all of the fun out of life.
