Thor is my third favorite after The Avengers and Iron Man.

One of my favorite MCU films.

I understand the complaints people have against it, but there is just this X factor the film has that just makes it endlessly watchable to me. It's bright and vibrant and has this really infectious air of fun and charm to it. The Shakespearean like melodrama is perfectly handled and never feels forces or hokey. Branagh keeps the pacing smooth with slick camera moves and directing. Many people feel the Earth scenes are lacking, but I think he puts just as much energy into those as he does the Asgard scenes. I've said it before in TDW threads but I really wish the bold opulence of Asgard was kept for the sequel. Ya-ya, the effects themselves are more detailed in the second film, but visually, the first film makes me drool every time: The shimmering star fields in he background, the way the BiFrost dances with color, the shiny golden halls and towers, the cool desolate blue of Jotenheim....it's eye candy of the highest order.

While the love story is under cooked Hemsworth and Portman have real chemistry (that's lost in the sequel imo) and the humor hit all the right beats. The score is also underrated. The two Thor films have had the best MCU scores so far imo. I don't know, I just really love Thor. It's one of those films that just gels with me, you know?

I know.

I thought Thor was the best of the Phase 1 non-Avengers films.

For those who have seen the movie, is Thor the best film from Marvel Studios so far?

As a movie, I say it is tied with Iron Man, but I like this one better. Thor and his world just fascinate me more than Iron Man's character and universe, so Thor has better replay value for me.

To those of us who have seen the movie, vote and discuss!

Yeah I got to say its for sure the best.It reminded me an awful lot of the greatest superhero movie ever made, superman.superman was a magical movie so was Thor.I really enjoyed captain america and Iron Man,especially Captain America, but Thor for me,had the same magic that the first two superman movies had.I didnt think that kind of magic existed in comicbook movies anymore. What really made Thor for me magical was the visual effects. It looked do real,Plus the theme song was magical just like the first superman score was. That music composer was as talented as John Williams and I did not think there was one out there who was as talented as he was.

I absolutely love the first Thor movie. It has so much going for it: acting, music the atmosphere etc. Let's just hope that Ragnarok can recapture some of the magic that was lost in "The Dark World".

One thousand times this ^

When I saw Thor for the first time I thought it was piece of garbage. Now, after 4 years, I've rewatched it and I really liked it a lot, actually. I need to rewatch all the Marvel films now. :woot:
