Good to see Thor is leading in votes! I'd take Thor, Cap, and TIH over Iron Man anyday. But they are all excellent films.

As some guys have said before, it's an incredibly fun movie and highly rewatchable!
So, it's my favorite from the solo movies, ranking #2 if we include The Avengers.

I finally got around to seeing Thor for the first time yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed it very much! I would rate this as the third best MCU film behind IM1 and TA.

Mind if I ask what makes CA and TIH the top two? Those were, imo the weakest of them. Not bad, by any means....just not as good as IM1, TA, or IM3.

How is Thor better than Iron Man ?

Robert Downey Jr > Chris Hemsworth.

Gwyneth Paltrow > Natalie Portman. (in the movie.)

    Jeff Bridges > Tom Hiddleston.

    Terrance Howard > Warriors Three.

At no point in either story was I bored or something pulled me out of it. I just can't say that about any of the other ones

Also, I think Chris Evans nailed Cap perfectly he's my favorite MCU character next to Stark.

With Hulk, the only thing I thought was missing was the feeling that "Hulk is strongest there is!!" He was strong, not THAT strong, but other than that it was very solid IMO

My favorite Marvel movie at the moment is Avengers. But if we're going solo, then I'd still give the trophy to Iron man. Thor comes in at a close second.

For the most part all the marvel stand alone films have been good. But they've also been quite safe. Iron Man and Thor were the only two that took small risks. Iron Man with casting an actor that was older in a genre dominated by younger men, and basically being okay with letting him put his own quirky spin on the character. Thor for actually starting to get in-depth with a more sympathetic villain.

However, I'd like to see the next phase of Marvel films push the envelope. I want to see them take a few more risks. just from a storytelling aspect.

    Thor
The Avengers (Excellent movie, but lacked the emotion of the Thor film)
Captain America (I didn't care much for the villain, and things got pretty cheesy, but the actors perforances were great and I loved the love story bewteen Steve and Peggy, which is the most invested I'd ever been in a cbm relationship)
    The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man (The villians kind of sucked, and the third act was pretty bad. RDJ is perfection though, and his charisma alone is reason enough to watch.)
    Iron Man 2

    1. THE AVENGERS
    2. THOR
    3. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER
    4. INCREDIBLE HULK
    5. IRON MAN 2
    6. IRON MAN 3
    7. IRON MAN

out of The Avengers, Thor is the best Marvel movie......
It had a lot...from emotions, actions, a balanced humor...and to me, the most important thing is the score conducted by Patrick Doyle!! (it was also the best BGM score for any of Marvel movie!)

the BGM in Thor & Odin's scene (the last one where Thor confessed to Odin that he's not ready to be a king yet) was spot on!
It fits the scene perfectly...(along with Thor's sacrifice scene, The Assemble scene in The Avengers, Cap's ressurection in CA: The First Avenger, Iron Man's armors assemble in Iron Man 3, Hulk vs Abomination in TIH), that last scene between Thor & Odin was the most memorable moment in MCU, in my opinion..

Iron Man was better, it took more risks than Thor, had a better romance, and as a whole it was a better movie. This thread comes from a time when Captain America and Thor were coming out and everybody was exagerating their feats, there was even a Captain America was beter than The Dark Knight thread.

These thread are proof that we should allways wait some months before making comparison threads like these, when fans have started to avaliate the film better.

A few posters with IM2 above IM which is surprising.

    I'd rate mine as:

    1. Iron Man
    2. Iron Man 3 / The Avengers
    3. Thor
    4. Iron Man 2
    5. The Incredible Hulk
    6. Captain America TFA

I think Avengers is clearly the best but I think it's unfair to compare the solo films with that one. As for the solo it's difficult (I'm yet to see Iron Man 3) whilst I'd say Iron Man is the best film it's not my favourite Cap is so I'd rate them like this:

    Captain America: The First Avenger
    Iron Man
    Thor
    Incredible Hulk
    Iron Man 2

    1) Marvel's Avengers (8.5/10)
    2) Iron Man (8/10)
    3) Captain America (7/10)
    4) Iron Man 3 / Thor (6.5/10)
    5) Iron Man 2 (5/10)

I haven't watched The Incredible Hulk believe it or not, so I can't rate it.

Asking people in the Thor thread if Thor is the best Marvel Studios movie is like going into Hershey Park and asking people if Hershey is the best Chocolate.

But honestly, with the solo films, I'll put it like this:

    1. Iron Man
    2. Captain America
    3. Iron Man 3/Thor
    4. Incredible Hulk
    5. Iron Man 2

All of them at least solid.

I've got a different take but I'm told I'm strange
    1. the Avengers
    2 Thor
    3 Captain America
    4 Iron man
    5 Incredible Hulk
    6 Iron man 2
7 Iron man 3 ( though I cringe to even have on the same page as the others)

Thor. Iron Man and Cap are all in the same plane to me and the differences which make one better than the other are really pretty minuscule. incredible Hulk is just a touch below and Iron man 2 although a good film doesn't quite measure up to the others.

Best to not speak to me about IM3 or you shall see how close a normal human can be to becoming the Hulk.
