Just got thru the 8th gym. Was a bit harder, but Krookodile tore thru Iris thanx to Moxie. Went ahead and decided to just beat the E4, and then once I can bring Pokemon over from my other games I'll worry about breeding and building a new team then. I'm already lvl 50 with all my Pokemon, which is just 4 below where Spidey beat the E4, so don't really want to go thru the extra effort atm right before the end. Plus, surprisingly, Serperior's starting to pull his weight pretty well, I was iffy before, but leach seed + coil makes him one hellova staller in game, then once his atk is full he sweeps.

Also, I was trying to find an Adamant or Jolly Rufflet, didn't find one yet, but I do have 4x Rufflet's in my box if anyone needs one. You can trade anything for it, tho a Vullaby would be appreciate :).

At level 54, I swept the Elite 4. Only one that gave me a problem was the Fighting member since I only had Braviary. It got KO'd but I had taught Haxorus Aerial Ace and he finished up the rest (be careful against his Sawk since it cant be OHKO'd). Only reason I grinded to level 54 is that is when Rufflet evolves and I like my Pokemon being on the same level.

I wanna go on record by saying Deerling is the worst piece of **** pokemon EVER. I'm trying to get through Route 6 and ever couple seconds a goddamn Deerling pops up that I cannot escape from for some stupid reason. It's getting old

If you have a Fighting, Flying, or Fire move, it'll get rid of it fast.

At least they're not zubats.

True. I'm just getting frustrated trying to train in that area and the only thing I can find is deerlings which aren't great for raising water and electric types

I've got to say, I'm quite impressed with these new games. I haven't really been into the Pokemon games since R/B/Y and G/S/C came out; I hated R/S, and was on the fence with D/P. But I'm proud to say that B/W along with HG/SS has made me a fan again.

I felt the same when I faced Preschoolers for the first time. I mean, really Nintendo? At least make them Ninjas like in RSE.

Thats pretty much how I felt. Why would they make a preschool opponent??

Beat the game and went ahead and transfered over all my Pokemon from Platinum and Heart Gold. Once you get used to it it goes fast, but it still took me almost 2 hours to xfer over 300 Pokemon over. I just watched a movie while doing it tho. Once I got done I checked my PC, took 15 out of 16 boxes to bring everything over :(. Do you just keep getting more boxes, or am I stuck with just 1 box left?

Also...seeing Giratina and Gyarados play peekaboo and skip around behind bushes during the Poketransfer was plain creepy.

Put at least 1 pkmn in each box and leave the pc, when you go back in you will have more boxes, up to 24.

Awesome, thanks. I'm particular about how I sort my boxes. I like it all to make sense, and not just toss everything wherever. Like one box for breeding, one for legendaries, one for shinies, and since I have 4 different teams from different games I'd like for them to all have their own box. I also like to have one called HM/NEW for newly catched Pokemon to fall into and for my HM slaves for easy acces.

I usually do a box for each type (combine some similar ones like Ghost/Dark, Rock/Ground/Steel) and then have the last box be my Team with Pokemon I use regularly.

I beat the game tonight but I'm in no rush to transfer a bunch of Pokemon over yet.

i always based my boxes on type/region like forest, safari, sea shore, deep sea, river, grassy field, cave, factory, mountain, plants, bugs, legendaries, etc...

Trying to figure out what the hell I'm gonna do to beat the Dragon Gym Leader. My team relies a lot on my fighting/rock types. My Samurott is pretty good, but he's no Dragon killer. Any suggestions?

Be stronger? Type advantage is useful, but you don't need it.

I haven't gotten there yet, I just know it's coming. I'm at the Ice gym which will be pretty easy

I caught a Axew as soon as I was able to get to the cave where he is. Also had an Archeops (evolved form of the Fossil) that knew Dragonbreath which helped take down the leader's Haxours a bit. You could also go get the ice cream Pokemon at cold storage or change your DS's date to April (when Winter is) and get the polar bear Pokemon or snowflake one.

I got the Polar Bear pokemon and am gonna start training him. Who knows, he might be decent

Ice is a ****** defensive type since it only resists Ice and is weak to Rock, Fighting, and Fire. Though I believe he learns Superpower later. Definitely get a male and if you keep using it till it learns that, you can breed it onto some Pokemon.

The ice gym gives you an Ice type move TM. Forget the name atm, but it's a 40 damage, always crit move (which puts it under Ice beam non crit, but still, not bad damage). Not sure if your Samurott can learn it or not tho.

Also currently in breeding mode, putting together a gen 5 team to try out the Pokemon I've been wanting to try out before I mix and match my older teams in. So have 3 extra spare Ferroseed's with Leech Seed and Stealth Rock (2 careful's and a jolly, chose a Sassy for myself) if anyone wants one. Also breeding a Morning Sun Larvesta (Edit - which I have 2 spare modest's of, wanted a timid for myself).

My only problem is I want to, at some point, breed one more Arcanine, but not sure how to do this. I already have a Smeargle with Morning Sun, and Flare Blitz (did that so I didn't have to wait until 50 or so to evolve Growlithe), but now Arcanine gets Close Combat too. So was thinking about having Smeargle learn that (which he can get from my Infernape or Lucario). How I did it last time was do a double battle. This time tho...I don't have a means to rechallenge dual battle trainers. You guys know a spot where this would work? It's the only way I can think of getting both Close Combat and Morning Sun on an Arcanine.

AND thats why I gave up on training that Polar Bear pokemon. I have yet to defeat a wild pokemon with it because every attack KO's it. I'm just gonna get my Conkeldurr and Gigalith towards lv 50 and give that gym a try.

Dragon gym's not that bad if you're at the right levels. Type advantage is unnecessary, I beat Iris down with my Darmanitan
