The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Jamie Foxx IS Electro - Part 3

Wonder if Max will grow so out of control that he'll have to die. I don't see this character simply going to Ravencroft...think he'll bite the dust.

I hope he doesn't bite the dust

I'd love for there to be a movie with the Sinister Six, but I'm wondering how hard it might be to write a storyline where six supervillains with their own motivations come together convincingly. I'd like it to be more than just Doc Ock or another supervillain forming an 'I hate Spider-man' club

Not knowing how Electro's story pans out it might end up that even if he is left alive by the end that it might be inappropriate having him as a member.

Foxx was telling the truth about his role, not that I doubted him. I can just imagine the scene where he emotionally snaps, which has the potential to be powerful. Nobody likes him, he adores Spidey, and then the accident happens..and then not even Spidey likes him. He now has power to wield on his haters, thus abuses it. Great power, great responsibility and all that.

I'd like to see Spidey maybe try to reason with him with that line, saying that his uncle once said it to him only for Electro to basically be like, "**** you."

Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon reminds me of Mike Teavee's dad from Tim Burton's Willy Wonka remake.

No, I really doubt it. They're saving most of their villains from now on imo.

There would have to be a major build up to the Sinister Six. At least 4-5 movies before then (perhaps one being a spin-off).

The pics and the description from Foxx are very reminiscent of Jim Carrey as the Riddler in Batman Forever. I don't know if that's good or bad but those images are not exactly very promising.

I can see what you mean. I can see alot of Carrey's Riddler in this, but much of what was good about it. I don't think he'll be as over the top as he was. Carrey overplayed that too much, primarily after he snapped, which came much too quick.

While I still think he'll be an interesting character and that he'll have some genuinely creepy moments, pre transformation, Max definitely looks to be much nerdier and awkward than expected.

I think he'll reach "So awkward and inept its disturbing and painful to watch" in this movie. But in a good way. And as his layers are pulled back, we'll see how distrurbed he really is and how that comes into play when he gets powers.

But he won't be another Riddler. At the least, pre-snapped Riddler, done better.

An Electro cartoon I did today:

Firstly it was 'oh poor Doc Ock, the man lost his wife and then his experiment turns against him and tries to control him. But he dies a hero in the end, so he dies a good guy.' Wrong! Doc Ock was a megalomanaic. Then it was Sandman, 'poor guy, he just wanted to rob money for his sick daughter and besides, he also sacrifices himself in the end.' :whatever: Really? I dont know a great deal about Sandman like I do the other villains but I doubt he was all put-upon good-underneath hero. And then they used the Lizard in ASM who legitimatiely IS a sympathetic villain, but they kind of take a fair bit of that away. Although, having one arm kind of makes him sympathetic in the first place. Then you have Electro, a chance to actually create a man who already had a psychosis even before he became Electro, not a good-deep-down, well meaning scientist who gets caught up and instead they make him the put-upon good guy, like we havent seen that before. He looks like a delusional guy, but not a negative guy by any means. Looks like these villains are starting to fade into the background like clones rather than standing out. :whatever:

Max Dillon could easily be a put-upon man who is also a passive aggressive dick in private. Everything I've read about Dillon/Electro sounds like a loveletter to his comic book character.

Thanks guys! That is the EPITOME of a rough sketch though. If you have a sec I'd love some of our Spidey fans' opinions on my other Spidey drawings (I just made a thread in the Fan Art forum called "Spuzz's Art") :)

Spider-Man will turn Max evil by mocking him - only to learn absolutely nothing and continue cracking jokes about the guy as he goes on an insane rampage.
Unlike Batman or Supes, Spider-Man seems to really have no concept of compassion towards his enemies nor does he ever seem to comprehend that his words have actions and that routinely humiliation mentally fragile people will only make their behaviour far, far worse.

It's why he's such a good character, because he's such a damn hypocrite. He knows absolutely nothing about responsibility and is just about the most immature, selfish creep in the Marvel Universe.
Honestly, don't think I'm dissing him, because this is all why I admire the character.

I just hope people see that side of him more and ask if his constant quips and jokes pushed Electro to lengths he wouldn't have resorted to otherwise.

Seriously disappointed by the pictures of civilian Max Dillon. Glad to see he's fulfilling the stereotypical, over-the-top creepy, nerd archetype. But it's cool, because that's exactly the dumbed down, infantile level that Hollywood has conditioned the general audience to operate on.

This along with the "glowing blue man" in a black suit are indicative enough to tell me that the filmmakers not only lack any imagination whatsoever, but feel the need to hit you over the head with what they're trying to say. So pathetic.
