What's this picture from? It looks like the symbiote bonded with Electro. lol

It's from the card game Magic The Gathering. It's called Hellspark Elemental.

Thanks. I used to play Magic: The Gathering years ago. Might still have some cards stashed away.

Wait so your idea of an inspired, creative approach to Electro that's better than the overdone blue man with glowing skin is to just doing something "Magic: the Gathering" already did? Nothing is new under the sun, bro. I'm sure what they're doing with Electro will come off as different enough to be unique. Let's reserve judgment until we see the film.

meanwhile people on the magic the gathering movie forums are arguing that the hellspark elemental should be a guy with blue glowing skin...

Madam Web, what have I done?

Nah, I just had the idea of Electro sort of "decaying" with his main body being the lightning underneath. No Grixis, no mountains or anything.

I'm fine with Electro; just decided to go with a design that makes his powers more obvious.

Electro is not a living electricity being although they already tried that once.He is a man who by "accident" got electrical powers. It is alright for a CBM to incorporate element such as blue(because of electrical eel in this case) as long as it's clearly backed up but what you are suggesting is too fantastical and not believable by any means(not criticizing you just saying audience wouldn't believe in the idea you are suggesting). The idea is to keep Electro human but at the same time give him a power which can change his personality and not turning him into living electricity as you suggested.

This is why this design is good. It's not too comic booky although it has been done before but it still stays grounded.

I didn't know what to think when I first saw pictures of electro.
Shocking(Pun 100% unintended.I swear.) to say the least.
After having had a chance to process it..I dig it
And that's coming from a comic purist.:cwink:
(Yes,I realize that he's kind of supposed to be modeled after the ultimate electro.)
I suppose it's just cause classic electro's costume is so absurd,Even I admit that there's no way it could ever look good on screen.
:lmao:

Pre electro Dillon looks absolutely hilarious though.

I'm very pleased with Electro's look in the movie, because I'm a big fan of Ultimate Spider-Man... But Dillon looks ridiculous. I wanted him to look like a vicious fighter and villain, and I got a nerd...

Well,
Dillon is neither of those things.
Not before he became electro....

I'm gonna wait untill I see some footage of Max Dillion before I judge how they did the character.

That's like wanting Batman to be a puerto rican salsa dancer...

Batman should be a Puerto Rican Salsa dancer. That way he can beat villains with the power of DANCE!

Just like there's no way Captain America or Thor's costumes could ever look good on screen.

And yeah, Max Dillon looks like Jaime Foxx doing some over the top nerd parody like he did back in his "In Living Color" days.

Like I said,
I'm usually one to push the idea of sticking as close to the comics as possible.
Just not this time.

And Loki And Thor are bad examples.
They're royalty from another planet.
Them looking over the top just works IMO

Electro is just some guy.:oldrazz:

What's Spider-Man's excuse? He's "just some guy".

Not asking for the star mask (obviously) but SOME verisimilitude to the classic costume would have been great!

He's the hero and needs to be instantly recognized.
Like a uniform for a cop or a fireman
Needs to hide his identity and whatnot.

This is the first time I've ever been on this side of the comic to move costume argument.

Who knows though.
Perhaps they COULD have done something.
*shrug*
People are speculating that he will at some point wear something other than the hoodie.
Maybe it will be closer to what you want.:cwink:

Yeah, but now you're talking about his costume needing to resemble (or in this case look 100% faithful) the comic book for reasons other than the story.

These are iconic heroes and villains. They can go 100% faithful with a bright red and blue spandex unitard, which is, for all intents and purposes, completely cheesy, but they can't maintain even a miniscule amount of faithfulness for Electro's costume? It just seems incredibly stupid and narrow minded.

:funny:

I've been on both sides before. Sometimes the changes make sense and really fit the character and sometimes they just don't make any sense.

Yes, they definitely could have. I doubt it'll be close/similar to what I'd like to see, but I'm not really asking for much anyway. Can we get Joss Whedon to start directing these films?

Electro's costume does have a miniscule amount of faithfulness, depending on which continuity you're considering.
