This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]516909[/split]
I have a feeling that in 2015 they filmed footage that could be assembled into a perfect SS movie. IMOHow was the movie in general?

i read somewhere that test audience didnt repond good to some scenes where Joker was a little to mean/evil . I belive this because i know Ayer's movies. i bet he filmed some scenes with Joker that are not for children hahahahI'm glad I've read/watched reviews that outline just how little Leto is actually in the movie because if I hadn't, I would be pretty upset going in thinking he'd have at least 30 mins of screen time, but it seems like WB didn't want to overuse him, perhaps. Hopefully he has a larger role in Batman's standalone movie and/or if Quinn gets her own movie.
I saw a good movie in there somewhere, and Ayer's vision does shine through the cloudy mess from time to time, its just the end product was very far from that vision IMO.
But I read somewhere that he said the theatrical cut is his cut. And I follow him on Twitter, and he tweeted yesterday or the day before that he loves the movie that is playing in cinemas right now. I think that cloudy mess you're talking about is his vision.
Ayer is playing the hollywood game. he is very angry but he knows that he can still work with WB if he plays nice. and he is . he was of course disappointed that WB didnt buy his and Max Landis project but he knows what he has to say.But I read somewhere that he said the theatrical cut is his cut. he is IMO lying . this is not his cut.[/QUOTE]
Based on the film I saw and the information I've read, I would have to agree with this sentiment.
Is the "Buh-Bye" scene really cut?
If Deadpool proved one thing, the general audience doesn't want the same crap we've gotten from comic-book movies for well over a decade. There's a fine line between making the Joker a complete sadist and making him a captivating psychopath. It seems WB was too afraid to take this chance and instead made the Joker more likable which I have a problem with. But I'll see for myself in 4 hours if Ayer/Leto did the character justice with the limited time he's on screen.
100%.in the trailer it happens on the same location as the third act fight and it was not in the movie.
With all of the rumors swirling around about studio interference (which sticks out like a sore thumb in the film) it is very hard to say. He may be just trying to save face in hopes of the film doing at best, decent business.

What else is he supposed to say? That they butchered his vision and that this was not the movie he set out to make?
That's not how the industry works.
Josh Trank said it. And if Ayer we're that upset with the final product, he does have the option to say nothing. Or at least be less effusive in his support of the film. He says he loves it. And I'll remind you, you are accusing this man of lying through his teeth right now. I, on the other hand, am taking his word for it until I see some other mythical version of this movie come out of the woodwork.
