That's really what it comes down to for me. The performance needs to be more controlled. The impression I got from what little footage we've seen is that Leto gave so many different takes, that when it came time to edit the performance together, there was no consistency in his characterization. Instead of there being one uniform performance, it was like he gave a series of little mini-performances that varied from scene to scene.

Leto and Affleck need to spend more time finding out just who this guy is, and hone in on that. Channel it. Give it more direction. For as insane as the Joker is, I want to believe in him as a flesh-and-blood, living and breathing person. I don't want a cartoon character in three-dimenson.

The scene with Common's character makes a lot more sense if you read the novelization.

I just think people may get over hyped for these when they are likely deleted scenes that make more sense in the context of the movie if it was still cut a certain way. For example you can't really throw in abusive Joker in the way it currently plays out, so it's going to be interesting to see how they handle the Bluray release. Maybe put a bunch under a "deleted scenes" menu with some toggable narration to give context to the scenes?

Best case scenario they have a Deleted Scenes featurette on the Blu-Ray. I don't see an Ultimate Cut coming out of this.

I agree with this assessment. Leto said that he wanted to give them a choice with a lot different takes, but the way those chosen takes have been put together indeed does feel inconsistent.

He said **** em because one of the clauses in his contract is that he can't do any life threatening things even though Jared climbs mountains regularly.

I don't know the fan that posted the original text, then I found one on the Leto tumblr I follow which seemed to be fan's retelling of what Jared said, spread pretty heavily over tumblr until now.

This camp is like 3 days long who knows what he did or did not say over there unless it's filmed. The only thing I know for sure is that he twerked on stage and sang my favorite song because I saw it on video :funny:

I know see at least 4 familiar Leto fans going after Batman news :P

I saw some of the video from Mars camp. He seemed pretty mellow, smiled a lot. And it's not like the f word is something he uses infrequently. Kinda amusing to see how "news" travels and how it gets reported, though. :cwink:

His dancing was really cute :funny: Really though from the quote to the fan interpretation to the 'news' site apparently reading boards for sources and basing a 'news' article on 9 second video which they turn into headline they know is misleading...what's real? what isn't? :funny:
