Jared Leto IS The Joker - - - - - - - - - Part 18

You don't have to be Dr. Phil to work out Lantern Venom's problem here. He was clearly denied the joy of having Lego toys as a kid. That's why he resents the awesome Lego movies. They remind him of painful memories of things he was denied in his childhood.

Oh, my dear, sweet, mislead Joker. Even as a glob-off-the-old-symbiote, way back in the dark days of the 70s, I never wanted Legos. Even 5-year-old Lantern Venom would have told you that Lego figures look like deformed troll babies. I had the glory of Megos back then, and I still have a few of those around for nostalgia.

Actually, I have more passion for action figures now than I did as a child. I keep adding new pieces to my nerd cave, like this shiny lad.

^ I understand where you're coming from on the whole Lego thing. I wasn't a Lego kid either. Asked mom for them as a present back in 2001/2-ish, wasn't impressed, never again. :funny:

Cool new action figure addition, btw.

You protest too much. You secretly love them. It's not too late you know. You can still embrace them. They're more popular now than ever before. Go buy yourself as many as you can.

Infinitely better investments, too, than those plastic eyesores you bought there. I hope you were not charged more than 10 cents for that in 99 cents store bargain bin.

Galifinakis>>>Leto

The only version of the Joker than I like less than Leto's is the ghastly troll doll/tarzan hybrid that was in The Batman (awful, awful show).

Other than that, though? Everyone >>> Leto.

I thought "The Batman" version of the Joker was just fine. Well, if you can get past the fact that the guy never wore shoes. :D

Their poseability is horrendous and they're often brittle. They're cheap, so I can understand collectors who like a plethora of characters and want something easy to acquire as a keepsake, but they look terrible on display.

Thanks for the compliment on the SS Joker fig. I would have preferred a cloth jacket, but they often result in diminished arm articulation. He looks good with the cane posed in front of him, but I need to find a scale-accurate machine gun at some point.

You've never met a figure snob? Really? Figure collecting message boards are full of them. Just about every collector has a line or brand that he or she thinks is crap.

I wonder how long it took Leto to get in character for the photo shoot for that promo image.

According to the Blu-ray extras, he often showed up on set already in character and interacted with everyone as such.

I liked when Viola Davis said she wanted to punch Ledouche in the face for being a dumbass on set.

Huh. Guess the saying is true. One man's trash (or general audience) is another man's treasure.

You should see my Green Lantern movie bust and statue collection. If there is an upside to tie- in products not selling well, it's snatching beloved character merch for peanuts.

Although in the case of Suicide Squad figs, Harley and Katanna are proving to be especially popular. I also have a friend who is an absolute Joker fanatic, and tracking down the 12" DCM Joker was an extended, frustrating hunt that eventually ended with me victoriously leaving a store in Enchantress-style dance mode.

That toy packaging...it's strange how much Leto's Joker looks like a snake with that long purple jacket. Like with actual snake skin.

I know everyone and their mother has gone back and forth on the design choices and aesthetics for this Joker, but...it's odd. Personally, I think the design was spot on when he was in the tuxedo and had the Alex Ross look.

It was. The black tuxedo helped fully sell the aesthetic. It was the perfect way to blend a little of the old with a little of something new.

If they stick to similar attire choices down the road, design wise, it'll work out that much better for Leto.

The first two seasons of The Batman are FANTASTIC! I love that show. It's tied with Batman Beyond as my second favorite animated Batman series

Yeah that show is pretty underrated plus you get more Nightwing.

Yup I really liked The Batman. I thought that version of the Joker was fine.

The lighting, shadows, and lack of being able to see the tattoos made him look great. Should've started and ended right there, tbh. :o

He was. I think (like TAS but with a different aesthetic) they managed to perfectly blend Joker's goofy and homicidal sides.

Plus, that version was even responsible for the birth of Clayface. Awesome episode with Killing Joke references aplenty.
