Jared Leto IS The Joker - Part 5

Anyone who knows me knows I'm not quick to scream "Conspiracy!"

Having said that, something about this whole thing feels off to me. I mean he's covered in tattoos, and he just happens to be wearing a surgical glove (not unlike a tattoo artist). The tattoos themselves are basically self-aware tributes to the character, and this photo was posted on his 75th anniversary. He's locked away in prison, yet he sports a fancy pinky ring?

I don't know. I'm prepared to accept this as the real thing, but I can certainly understand where the doubters are coming from.

Still hoping this is the case because that's what I assumed in the beginning but the lack of feedback on it is making me doubt it...

Yeah at first it seemed that was just to celebrate the anniversary. The self aware tattoos. But like you said Mrs Wayne there's been no feedback or comments or anything since the photos release.

That's the same report as earlier

Just woke up, as always USA is far ahead of me in terms of news, not sleep though. :woot:

My hope is for the best of both worlds: YES for the grills, NO for tattoos.

That's exactly the way I see it. Some elements HAVE to be staged for the photo.

I actually think the one that seems to really be the bone of contention, DAMAGED, will be covered by Leto's hair and this whole thing will look like a tempest in a teapot. Look at the reveal picture... He's pulling his hair back and the tattoo is pretty close to his hairline.

I think the spy-footage showing him in a suit with his hair slicked right back is conclusive evidence that his haircut will be much as it appears in the "tattoo" photo.

Why would he have to diguise himself. Most can still tell it's the Joker despite all the tattoos.

"Disguise" was the wrong term to use, but The Joker is a showman who loves to play dress-up. Probably the most famous instance is the "American tourist" outfit he wore to attack and maim Barbara Gordon, but consider also his recent use of a workman's overalls (Death of the Family); safari suit and Arab robes (Death in the Family); Santa outfits (Long Halloween); the sweater, pipe, and slippers stereotypical to the father in a nuclear family (Return of The Joker, flashback scene with The Joker's death); the bohemian artist's outfit in B89; and the nurse's outfit in TDK.

None of these did anything to conceal the Joker's identity- they were just a part of him having fun and putting on a show while causing murderous mayhem. The "prison" look may be a similar deal.

Snyder's use of the words "cryptic" and "joke", with reference to the image, may lend some weight to your view.

has anyone pointed out yet that Leto wears those gloves when he meets 30 Seconds to Mars fans etc?

This is weird...

I'm really starting to doubt the pic's authenticity. Yes, it's Leto as Joker. But is it Joker's TRUE look? Until we see another image, I'm doubting how TRUE it is.

Still don't like that shade of green. It's too light.

I still don't buy the theory that this isn't the Joker we will see in the film. Could be wrong, but I don't think it's a great move to make even if it does turn out to be the case. I mean it just confuses people and you're basically relying on everyone to be informed and aware that this could be a joke in itself or as some have suggested an alternative concept just for the 75th anniversary. Though if it's the latter then it would make much more sense just to get out in front of it and explain that to people rather than needlessly cause confusion.

But just imagine how dark it will be under the color filters. Dull and boring

That's exactly what I want. Dark green. Which is definitely not dull and boring.

That lime green in those Leto pics is horrid. If they've any sense they'll darken it up in the final product.

I like the new Joker enough but they could salvage this by showing different versions of the Joker. Leto in different costumes inspired by the comics. A nod to Joker's constant reinvention both in and out of the comics. Such a huge tease it would be if they did that and imagine the chaos. Everybody would go bananas.

Yep total denial that tattoo punkster Joker is not the real deal.

But just imagine how dark it will be under the color filters. Dull and boring :o

Nope. Dark green is Joker's colour. Not punk rocker green

You can find his hair in the comics in any shade of green you like. The intention here, I feel sure, is to imply that the his hair is "really" dyed, as a way of ornamenting his chemically ravaged skin.

Why does everyone think it's going to be THAT color? Just look how dark MOS and BvS look. No doubt Ayer will go with the same color filter. If you make it too dark now, then by the time it goes through the filter, you wouldn't make it out all that well. So I see no issues.

Why would anyone think it wouldn't be that colour? Dunno what you keep going on about with the BvS look. Are the suits like bright coloured on the set and look darker like they did in the trailer? Because you got no basis to say this ain't the colour we're getting. Like the fan denial with the tattoos. Lets celebrate Joker's 75 years by making him tattoo punkster. Makes total sense. Not.

Ugly hair colour, stupid tattoos, lame silver teeth. Ugly Joker design all over.

That's the perfect response to Leto's look.
