Jared Leto IS The Joker - Part 6

Dat Jokah smile! :joker:

You know, I could see this Joker being a real force on the streets of Gotham and maybe even beyond. The look is indeed "crazy" but in a way that would be appealing to the common street thug. This isn't the type of Joker that hob nobs with the Godfather/Goodfellas type organized crime figures. This is a Joker whose gang is made up of the rowdy and aimless youth of Gotham. This is a Joker whose rivals are the Crips, Bloods and Latin Kings.

 Yes! I can totally see this.

He's got an aura of senseless brutality about him, and we know The Joker in character is also highly intelligent and unpredictable. Looks like he will be symbolic of greater fears, within this 'grittier' tone we're getting.

I don't know how to place it but I think he is going to keep film goers seriously on edge, more than a little nervous.

See, I think that the ink can and does fit into the character. A criminal psycho who has a theatrical edge... but in today's world that is more in line with Leto's look than a suit with tails and a lapel flower. Though, I siuppose the argument could be nmade that the suave look is in it's way more freaky. Still, this looks to be a Joker very much of the "now". I still don't have a problem with that.

That seems an odd statement, since we have already seen him in a typically Jokerish, dapper suit.

I keep thinking this is his "characterization" on the prision, as a game... Could be wrong tho.
But just look at Delevigne's work and specially on Joker they are fancy but I doubt they are permanent.

If you mean Ledger, even with him was a grungy edge, while keeping with the dress look. It wasn't Jack'sJoker or ripped from Timm's show or the comics. That's what I mean. And like I pointed out, I can see the classic suit being in it's own way equally "freakish" in today's world. I just see how Leto's look is more in line with the criminal element ascendant in the mean streets around the world today. I understand that might be too pedestrian for some, but that feels ok to me for this live action outing.

He can still scrub himself up. I can picture him wearing a different outfit every time we see him.

But yea, i think they are going for a "gangbanger" type Joker. A charismatic, genius, psychopathic gangbanger. With some eccentric flamboyant punk rocker thrown in for good measure. Think Billy Idol as a gangster.

Good post.

You do have some street types that go for the suit. I think the tattoos are more to establish that this Joker's been around a while and isn't new on the scene like Ledger and Nicholson.

God, can you imagine the hell he has put this Batman through? Sweet lord.

I am seriously betting, that despite all the laughs his 'reveal' has received around here.. appropriate as they are.. that Leto's Joker is going to scare the piss out of people in theatres. Lol.
We might expect to be disturbed, but we won't see this coming. I hope I'm right!

If the bat**** crazy look in his eyes in that reveal pic is any indication, you might be right.

One super odd thing is that when you search Jared Leto Joker on google images, not one single image of the official release appears until you scroll down at least four times.

Even if you add official, I couldn't find it until over halfway down the page and even then it's an edited version instead of the original. :funny:

It feels almost like a Kubrick style aesthetic when you delve into it. That's right I went there.

So seeing that... do you know if Harley is bleached or having white make up on his body? Because I saw some set pics and the look like Margot is with his normal skin legs. If she's bleached, definetely not with the same procedure as the Joker (see the eyes efect) or maybe it's hidden under that make up. Does someone that catch details know about this more than me?

Hmm so the artist included all the fine tattoos on Harley's legs and the little J on Joker's face but chose not to include the "Damaged" tattoo?

Or did someone shop this afterwards?

If that's fake, then that's amazingly done. If not then, I guess all those theories about Harley being the tattoo artist and the whole glove thing, are right.

That's the first I've heard of Harley being a tattoo artist.
