Leto is most likely going to do a great job. I have little doubt about that myself.

The phone footage gif looks great, but I suspect that was a test shot for make up etc., and the jacket was whatever they had to hand – I fully expect for Mr. J to be in Arkham overalls for most of the film - in an almost Hannibal Lecter type role, breaking out at the end and then donning his famous purple suit.

This was my hope as well. But it seems, judging by the set photos, that Joker may already be out during the scene with Deadshot carrying Harley, her crying in the rain, depressed on top of the car, after removing her jacket & necklace and scratched up from some altercation with someone. Based on those details, it would seem that The Joker tried to kill her and/or Squad in that scene and those are aftermath scenes of the fight, her ditching her Joker related materials and crying because she's upset he betrayed her. They could possibly be shooting the aftermath of the fight first, since Jared is still on Tour at the moment.

100% pure speculation but that's what seems to be going on there IMO. I'd definitely prefer to see the Joker decked out in Purple but I don't think it's likely given the photo from Leto's phone and the word on the set that they have white suits on set.

It's possible, but I think the scenes being shot are the result of something bigger happening... I don't think Mr. J is responsible.
Also, then 'puddin' necklace – is that not where the explosive that Rick Flagg is controlling is? And could she not be upset that a team member has or two have died in the battle?

Regarding 'word from the set' rumours – I'm very skeptical with all of them, if you look at the filming timeline that we know so far, I don't think Leto can have filmed much - if any of the movie. He went to Toronto for a few days before jetting off to Europe for concerts/gigs... he was in NYC yesterday so may be on his way back to Toronto.

I'd love Joker to wear something different this time. I know purple is his iconic color, obviously, but I welcome new creative approaches. I think, White suit works just as good. Besides, he will have some purple elements in his attire, gloves, socks or whatever, most likely.

Joker, in recent years, like Jared's interpretation, has had a wide variety of different looks and costumes. Do I want to see the classic purple suit? Of course I do.
Do I want to see more of Jared with different appearances, at least just for a few scenes? Something that spices up the flavour of Joker? Yes, I do. Very much so.

Regarding 'word from the set' rumours – I'm very skeptical with all of them, if you look at the filming timeline that we know so far, I don't think Leto can have filmed much - if any of the movie.

But this does not matter, it does not mean that a scene where Harley Quinn laments over The Joker and/or something that he has done cannot be filmed because Leto has not been in Toronto lately. This is something that is hardly indicative of a filming timeline, especially since they are generally all over the place.

I think the above theory is quite plausible and the only other reason I think that she would ditch the Joker related attire is for comfort. But who knows. t:

I could definitely be wrong, I was just looking at set photos and it popped into my head as the most logical scenario. What else could get Harley that upset? I don't think a Squad member dying would be it, it would almost have to be something involving the Joker in my opinion. Not really in her nature to get upset about anything really, unless it was the Joker's doing. She dumped her Joker related gear, seems like a decent bet she threw it away because she's upset with him. Like Rod said, comfort would seem to be the only other reason why she would dump the jacket/necklace. I don't think the necklace would have the explosive device in it, she could just take it off, those are mostly embedded under their skin somehow so they can't take them off.

As for Leto, like I said, they could just be filming the aftermath of the fight first, since he's not around. Because of Actor's schedules they never shoot these things in order.
