That's so bad it hurts,
What My Chemical Romance lyric is that

it's not nearly as bad as the " smile , because it's easier than explaining what's killing you inside " BS .

infact , you know what's to blame for the " damaged " tattoo ? **** like this being plastered all over facebook.

i feel like alan moore is to blame for the emo misunderstood joker trend. but he's also one of my favorite writers, so i can't even fully pin the blame on him.

who am i kidding though ? pretty much 99 percent of the people who make these kind of pics have probably never picked up a comic book in their entire lives...

I'm not sure they've even watched The Dark Knight. I really don't understand how anyone could see that Joker as mopey and misunderstood. He loved being evil.

they mistook the "i'm not a monster " quote, apparently.

also, probably more sympathy for the character cause of heath's death. even though they're entirely separate personalities.

the one logical friend on my facebook commented after i made a post about this kinda thing :

"The Joker probably doesn't understand pain. Physical, probably...but not emotionally. "

I consider Nolan's Joker (and the character in general) to be the fictional realization of Nietzsche's Superman. He has transcended good and evil and embraced the meaningless chaos that is reality. He refuses to impose false notions of order and purpose onto a world that has none.

If you understand Nietzsche you understand why that is not the philosophy of some nihilist goth kid. If you don't, then you don't.

So what your saying is The Dark Knight was really, Batman v Superman...

This is just what I was saying a few days ago, in response to the notion that Harley's inclusion might allow too much sympathy for the character, or a sexualization.

Many already romanticize the Joker (especially heightened after Heath Ledger's performance, likely as they weren't really familiar with the character beforehand).
No matter how sadistic, 'ugly' or mutilated you make the character, there will always be a crowd who see him as a charismatic bad boy. The fan fiction is out there to prove it :hehe:

Of course they'd probably be singing a different tune encountering someone like him in a dark alley at night..

I agree with this, he transcends good and evil.

Which makes him a force of nature. Or even the Dionysian in balance/opposition to Batman's Apollonian.

it's kinda like when chicks wanted to bang/marry ted bundy and richard ramierez.

although i don't think anyone's been putting emo quotes to their pictures.

I'm assuming the bodybuilder comments are being sarcastic because Leto just looks like a relatively fit guy.

I don't think Joker is supposed to frail or anything? Heath's Joker was arguably somewhat of a physical presence, heath wasn't a tiny guy by any means.

I love how he is wearing a Batman shirt... He should do that in the movie. :woot:

And that green hair is awesome! Can't wait to see some new pics of The Joker.

^What a shame. It just doesn't match the eyebrow raising deviousness of that moment for me :hehe:

Dont fall too much in love, Snyder will probably want to darken up the movie so much that it will probably end up looking more black than green :mnm:

You're probably not too far off.

Not that Snyder will make it look black, but in most cases things like make-up and hair color, costumes etc. are made much lighter on movie sets than their intended look on screen just so they have the leeway to play with the color filters after.

The Man of Steel Superman suit had a much brighter look behind the scenes than on screen.

From a guy that apparently works at WB. (see his profile banner), take it as you want. Not saying it's true. Just reporting.

The Joker doesn't have tattoos, now can we all move on??

I assume you're joking, since why would Snyder be involved in the colour correction for someone else's movie...
