I'm more excited for Aquaman than I am for almost any other hero.

Damn right. There's so much potential in a movie like this. Aquaman could be taking on all kinds of giant sea beasties.

I'm just picturing Snyder directed Aquaman scenes in JL and.... I CANNOT WAIT.

I asked earlier if Aquaman is useless to the JL if there isn't a sea around, and I was told NO. But never given any reasons.

What are some examples of Aquaman helping out the JL outside of water?

Sorry, not meaning to be a *****e, but a) i'm genuinely curious and b) I don't want the movie to have to conveniently have the battle be around water always for the sake of aquamomoa

Aquaman has super strength (he is strong enough to challenge Superman) and is very durable (bullets will annoy him, but they won't stop him). He is able to withstand outrageous amounts of pressure (because he lives at the bottom of the ocean) and his trident allows him to control, conjure, and manipulate water.

Including the weather from what I've been told...

It was only in the past 3-4 years that they changed his origin and he was living on land before knowing of his Atlantean history, so he adapted to both.

He also commands the largest most advanced military in the world. In JLA- World War III Mageddon is causing all the world to become paranoid and warmongering, on the brink of nuclear war, Aquaman's army invades every coastline in the world.

Indeed. I don't think it should be able to do that in live action, though. It would draw unnecessary comparisons to Storm.

Me too, i know next to nothing about the character but the Momoa casting(?) had me intrigued, lately i have done some online research about Aquaman and i gotta say im even more interested seeing him in this movie, JL and a possible spinoff movie. AM has some cool villains too. But just imagine if they would have Cthulhu in an Aquaman movie...Either as an enemy or even more awesome, some sort of ally. Maybe they have an uneasy truce? There is just so much potential with AM. Not including Cthulhu even. Although that would just be so cool. Who owns the movie rights to Lovecraft's works anyway?

Storm? I think there would be more comparisons to Thor. Depending on the style they go with, he'd be another long haired, bearded, possibly blonde dude, who commands the weather with a mystical weapon.

I can't wait to see Atlantis. I feel like it'll be enclosed in a giant dome, like in JL.

Storm and Thor. :awesome:

Just saw this. :D

This is a brief reminder that Cthulhu is already awake. The stars have always been right.

It’s just that once a year, Aquaman swims to the bottom of the ocean and kicks his ass back into a coma with the help of the demon Etrigan.

It isn’t the Elder Gods keeping the Great Old Ones from awakening and bringing down the Outer Gods; it’s ****ing Aquaman.

And this, dear readers, is why Aquaman is a badass. Well, this and ****ing everything from when he appeared on Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Wow, imagine if they would merge The DC Universe with Lovecraft's world?

I see what you're getting at, but why not? Storms are generated from the seas (hurricanes are the easiest example without getting too 'science-y' and long-winded here). The King of the Sea should be able to control those things related to oceanic influence.

But...as you pointed out, an average mouth breathing movie-goer is probably gonna make the Storm comparison in that case. :oldrazz:

Course, some will say that Hellboy cornered that market already. Hmmm, maybe Del Toro for Aquaman? Since we're not getting the king of the world to direct it. (He's busy)

They definitely need to show insane sea monsters. The Kraken, sea serpents, giant octopi, all of that...
