Probably best if the public coins the names for the heroes.

The trend starting with "Superman", followed by the emergence of "Batman" (who was thought to be an urban myth), then "Wonder Woman" and "Aquaman".

I'm also eager to see them refer to each other by their gov't names when not on missions.

Edit:

I hope that the naming comes because in the two years Supes has been around, people are now primed to call the metas names like Aquaman and Wonder Woman.

This guy beat me to it.

But yea, it should become a "thing" of sorts.

Cool suggestions. I too would like the people call him it or Lois writing in it the Daily Plant
Yeah I hope they call eachother by their hero names too, sounds cooler. Didnt like when cap was calling everyone by their hero names when planning the attack then called Stark..Stark, it would have been cooler (to me) if he said Iron Man.

Heres a question, do you all think he will be called Aquaman?

At some point yeah.

However, I'm not sure if they will refer to each other as ''Aquaman'', ''Superman'' etc..

Maybe Batman, well, because he's like that.

Batman should name himself. ;)

But the rest should let themselves get named by other people and EMBRACE that name. IE, the opposite of Anne Hathaway's Catwoman in terms of naming ;)

One thing I liked about Nolan's take was that he was simply a symbol, and the people of Gotham bestowed him with the Batman moniker.

I'm fine with that either way though.

I'd like to see it approached in a rather amusing way, where someone throws out a couple of different name suggestions. "Who are you supposed to be? Water Man? Fish Guy?" Eventually, said person would arrive at Aquaman.

"I'm Batman"- Batman

Batman Begins.

When was the last time you saw Batman Begins, DP? :word:

If Joss Whedon was writing this, I could def see that.

Any other men here jealous of Jason Momoa's body?

I see a lot of good looking people on TV, etc, but he fills me with envy more than most.

Yeah unless they change the tone a bit for JL i dont see them using that suggestion sadly

Like the Nightwing reference in Batman Forever?

True. I guess somehow in my own little mental fan fiction I feel as though word about some guy dressed as a Bat got around prior to him owning it off screen.

I don't know, I'm a pro wrestling fan and have seen better physiques to get jealous over. There are some dudes out there that will really motivate you to want to take care of your body.

Perhaps, in some meritorious fashion, one or more of his contemporaries could simply refer to him as the legendary Aquaman of the seven seas. That could work.

Yes, and that's as it should be.
I suspect the way it might work, is that the public and media will give most of them these names, Which the heroes will adopt as code names. When In public, they will address each other with the code names, and in private, back in the Watchtower, with their real names, i.e. Clark(Kal), Bruce, Arthur(Orin), Diana, Hal, Barry, etc.

I don't like the idea of Batman naming himself...if you want to make people believe you are this shadowy creature thing...giving yourself a name is not the way to do it.

Here are some looks that I think could suit Momoa:

I like all of those, but I hope Momoas Aquaman keeps his hand .

I've never liked the concept of heroes not naming themselves.I mean, they come up with a costume and a concept, but they can't be bothered to come up with a code name to go by?"I'm too cool for that ****.Let the media name me whatever they want."

I see what you're saying, but at the same time, I don't believe having a fancy code name would necessarily be a priority for too many of them. I could see Superman, for example, deciding to go by "Kal-El" if he wasn't named "Superman" by the press.

It makes sense for a hero/vigilante to give themselves a trade name when they want to enjoy the benefits of a secret identity. Batman, Superman, most Green Lanterns, Flashes etc clearly want that. Does Aquaman need it? I'm not sure, as I am no expert on the character, but on the face of it the the monarch of an underwater realm probably couldn't hide his identity. If that's the case, then the name Aquaman might as well come from someone else.
