Is Momoa popular?
Yes.
I think interest him only became widespread since he was linked to the Aquaman role.
I don't see how that's possible. Right now, only hardcore fans really care about that.
I wouldn't call him popular. Even on GoT he died within the first season and his try at a leading man Hollywood tentpole tanked at the box office.
He died in the first season playing one of the most popular characters on the show who people still talk about three and a half years later.
People love the **** out of Momoa, man.
And "popular" isn't necessarily the same thing as "huge box office draw."
Anyway, defining Momoa's popularity doesn't matter. The fact is, he's an actor who's public image is defined by playing one the top badass warriors. I'm concerned that the guys at DC are overcompensating, and that the final product will be goofy in a bad way.
