The Avengers Jeremy Renner is Hawkeye! - Part 1

Maybe ultimate hawkeye? Badass what he did in ultimates two. When he was held captive

I think you might be confusing Hawkeye with Bullseye. Hawkeye is a master marksman, sure, with ranged weapons; but Bullseye can more or less weaponize *anything* into a lethal throwing weapon. Using a paper airplane as a weapon is Bullseye's schtick, not Hawkeye's.

well I was exaggerating with the whole paper airplane thing... but I was thinking ranged weapons though

Did the guy who wrote that article really register here just to whine about people not taking his article seriously?

I :hrt: the internet
Actually I registered to address the claim that I was peddling my nonexistant archery company.

That and the fact that this is one of the few comics-related forums I haven't been a member of for years. It seemed like it was about time.

What way should someone shoot a grappling hook arrow while falling off a building? It is an entirely impossible act. How one can critique the form involved is a bit mindboggling
In his case, he should be shooting it to his left, because the arrow is going to strike further to the right due to the sideways bow. Instead, he's shooting further to the right.

Here's what I'm talking about. This is a page from a how to draw book, showing lines of action:

The first drawing looks weak and awkward. The second is more powerful and effective because of the strong lines of action.

Renner's shooting looks like the first drawing. If he had learned even rudimentary archery, his shooting would look like the second drawing.

It's not about whether it's realistic, it's whether it looks as good as it ought to. The video posted above makes the case as well. Compare Hawkeye to that trick-shooter. Who looks more awesome? Hawkeye's costume and attitude look badass, but his shooting looks weak.

You still don't understand why your point is invalid and it's glaringly obvious. Pick up a comic book with Hawkeye in it and you'll understand why people are so dismissive.

Hawkeye's form is gonna make this movie bomb. It's pretty obvious now.

Plus, Hawkeye is usually against murder. Though, I guess it's acceptable for invading aliens. :oldrazz:

And note that the MCU films so far have never even touched the old idea of "superheroes never kill ever."

Iron Man shot five terrorists in their stupid faces his first time wearing the armor. I think that set the precedent.

Has the Hulk ever killed in TIH?
I mean, of course many soldiers were seriously injured but I can't recall any deaths.
The Hulk might be the only MCU hero so far who is above killing.

Nail on head.

Wow. All these years and I've only just realised via this thread that Ultimate Hawkeye basically had 616 Bullseye's abilities [uncanny aim using any weapon], whereas 616 Hawkeye (as per his original series) had to practice [via tutelage from Trickshot] to achieve his uncanny aim using his trademark bow.

I can think of the Gulmira 'revenge' scene also. IM definately killed those guys.

There was one soldier in the Brazlian factory who I can only think would have been torn in half when he got sandwhiched [and then pulled along] between machinery and the huge water/boiler tank that Hulk was pushing.

We don't know what happened to the thugs who beat up Banner except for the one who ran away.

you're right, the factory scene. forgot about it.

That's true also. It's debatable as to whether the 1st guy would have survived, given the trauma his body wouldve went through. But personally, I've seen situations where people have died frm a whole lot less.
