Um, Will Smith, Denzel Washington and Wesley Snipes?

They are males. It is no secret that in Hollywood guys are more accepted. I mean...look at how many 60 and 70 year old actors are still working right now. Yet, can you name ATLEAST 10 actresses over the age of 50 that are still very much on demand in Hollywood.

Women are hired for their looks, it's more sexist than racist. The men are kept because they are good actors (Morgan Freeman).

Quite possibly the most ******ed thing I've read in this thread. And considering the topic at hand...it's saying volumes. :o

OH YEAH! Cause Halle Berry is such an amazing actress. The reason she's hired so much is because she's an attractive mixed race female.

Also, Hollywood is still a bit racist. I mean...how many ghetto ass people do you see in big Hollywood films? They hire people like Will Smith. And, speaking of Will Smith...he is probably the whitest black man in American. Hence why he was hired as Jim West in the Wild Wild West remake.

True, but it can also be a bit racist. Halle Berry has a better chance of being hired for a role than someone who looks like the rapper Eve.

Or maybe it's because Halle Berry simply has more acting experience?:whatever:

As said before, that's more of a sex thing than it is race.

MAYBE because "ghetto ass people" are not suitable for Hollywood? Seriously, asides from rap, where else do you see those same people glorified? It's an immature lifestyle, so it's obvious that type of thing would not be Hollywood in such a high-profile, professionally inclined industry.

Okay. You misunderstood. I did not say Halle Berry would get more roles than Eve. I said Halle Berry would get more roles than someone WHO LOOKS LIKE Eve. Big difference, buddy.

And, if you knew anything about Hollywood history you'll know its true. The whitest-looking black people tend to get more roles.

Where's the "couldn't give 2 ****s" option? She never really made any impact on me.

Watched Dark Angle more for the supporting cast than her. But didn't dislike her. She was just... there.

I think its a little of both. The whitest-looking black people always have an advantage. Its even true for hispanics. For many years Cameron Diaz got better roles than Jennifer Lopez. In fact, the only reason Lopez had a breakthrough was because she played Selena. If it wasn't for that role and movie she would never have become famous. And, everyday people who look like Jennifer Lopez are losing roles to hispanics who look like Cameron Diaz.

I think she's hot especially in person when i saw her, but I'm just a bit sick of seeing her EVERYWHERE and I dont mean just this site.

Have you ever thought that more people like Cameron Diaz?
J Lo is just annoying.

I agree 100% with you but I see where she is coming from! I was born in Cuba but I grew up in this country. So, I honestly...I consider myself to be 90% American and 10% Cuban. So, I see where she is coming from!
American and white isn't the same thing. Alba was born here, but rather than be proud of being a Hispanic-American, she seems to just want to extort all the money she can and at the end of the day say that she doesn't consider herself Hispanic. Even though she seems to enjoy cashing in on it.

Okay...but you're thinking of this from what you know now in 2006. Let's say its 1994 and both Diaz and Lopez are up for the lead female role in The Mask. Who do you think would be more likely to get cast? Diaz, of course! She has white skin, blonde hair, and green eyes!

Diaz looks better with Jim Carry.

She doesn't answer to you or the Hispanic race. I'm willing to bet she's crying all the way to the bank.

True :) But, I see where she is coming from. I should be a good Cuban boy but instead I'm a liberal American boy. :)

I still like her, there isn't much question that her popularity plummeted around here over the past year or so though.

That's why she's a ****ing ****. Being Hispanic is a big part of why she is famous. There aren't a lot of us in Hollywood. Yet she is ashamed of who she is.

If that's how she wants to be, then fine. **** her, she can't act anyway.

Maybe. Aside from their collaboration on In Living Color, Lopez and Carrey have never worked together. So...its hard to say. For all we know Jim Carrey and Jennifer Lopez may have the most amazing chemistry ever. But, we don't know...yet!

But, thats besides the point. I'm sure Lopez wouldn't have even been asked to do a screentest with Carrey.
