Justice League JGL as Batman!!!???

I really need this JGL rumor to die. I desperately want to look forward to this movie, but if the first live-action film to ever depict Superman and Batman onscreen together doesn't even feature Bruce Wayne, I'm honestly not even going to bother with it.

No need to worry, the rumor was false. JGL and his agents have both denied the story. I don't know what other proof is needed.

As much as I want to believe the denial because I hate that rumor with passion, it doesn't mean anything though. Actors and their agents have been known to deny things that turned out to be true. *cough*Marion Cotillard*cough*

Dont be narrow minded. Its not confirmed to be false. His reps HAVE to deny it. Are they gonna spill the beans and say YES ITS TRUE! if its up to WB to release the news or keep it a secret? Hell no. Itll be false when WB says its false in a press release regarding Justice League.

I'm not being narrow minded. It smacks of BS. First off JGL's stake has risen to where they're going to have to pay him pretty hefty if they want him in. It may have been considered at one point, but I'm not buying it.

So? This movie will have a 200-something million budget. I'm sure they can spare 5-10 to get a star to play their lead character. If Justice League can't afford him, he'd cost too much to ever be in a movie again.

And where did JGL himself deny this? I didn't see that. Not that it matters, Bradley Cooper swore up and down he had nothing to do with The A-Team until they officially announced it.

Fair enough, but it's not settled just because a rep refused the rumor. It means nothing.

Okay, consider this. After months of saying "I'm not doing JL or being involved", Christopher Nolan is now being coy about whether his Batman actors will appear in JL or make a cameo in MOS.

Does that not set off your alarm? It seems more and more likely Nolan will be involved with JL alongside Zack Snyder. Whether that participation extends to his actors is another thing entirely.

Maybe he just got tired of continuously saying what he's been saying. Maybe he's being a dick and pulling fanboys hopes. Maybe WB is getting harsher on him before he leaves, telling him to stop outright saying he has no involvement because they're banking onhis name. Maybe it's a lot of things.

I think that legally he's bound not to say anything one way or another. Could they be in talks with him? Sure. They were in talks with Ben Affleck, but it was quickly turned down.

JGL seems to be wanting to take on more serious acting roles which leads me to doubt this.

We'll find out, but at this early of a stage, I call BS.

Yeah but JGL said if he's a given a good script he'd do it but he also would have to like the director. That could be what they're waiting for. Only time will tell.

While I don't the story is false, I also don't think anything is set in stone yet . In other words, contracts and actual deals. I tend to think WB does want this to happen because A) It saves them the trouble and work of actually coming up with a new concept/rebooted Batman, B) They can hitch their wagon to a francise which has made of future and to the Nolan brand, C) Its the quickiest way to get the ball rolling.

The Nolan non denial can go either way , so I don't automatically ascribe to the whole , "Its confirmation" pronouncements. However, it does appear to lend more weight to the idea that it is certainly a possibility as opposed to just rumors.

Agree 100%

Talk about a neck-snapping slap to the face.

I'm actually not against the idea of JGL/Batmain in Justice League as long as he retains a Batman-ish personality and if the JL story is actually any good.

However, now that I think of it, what does WB/DC have to gain by casting JGL as Batman?

Nothing at all. The only reason you cast him as Batman is to link the films, but if you don't link the films with Bale, its not likely worth it. For Batman in the JL movie to be successful, it'd have to be either Bale from the Nolan films or a new, not connected Batman.

The problem with casting JGL in Justice League as a new kind of Batman, is it's only delaying the reboot. It's going to happen, but in this case it would get pushed close to 2020 or something like that. And by the time the Man Of Steel trilogy is up, Justice League movie or movies are done...you now have a Batman Reboot with a Bruce Wayne...and then you get fans going "goddamn it maybe it was cool linking it to Nolan but why didnt they just wait to do Justice league then..with the rebooted Bruce Wayne?"

Im cool with Robin Blake as Batman but will i be longing for Bales Batman to be in it instead? Probably.

I don't want Bale's Batman either to be honest. The problem with bringing in Bales Batman is that that will only eventually lead to Blakes Batman which I don't want at all. He's top 3 worst Batman characters ever created. The problem I have with so far with this rumor is everyday that goes by it becomes more likely it's true. WB doesn't have a clue how to work a movie without Nolan. All they see is dollar signs and not about the properties. As, I said before if you cast JGL that's fine, because I won't be seeing it. Period.

I'd be happy for the Nolan-verse to continue but not with JGL in Justice League. That has to be Bruce Wayne. Bale in JL and JGL (ideally revealed as Robin Richard Grayson) as Nightwing in a solo film or aiding Batman in JL. Dream scenario for me but very unlikely.

We never actually saw JGL become Batman. It's very possible he didn't feel he could live up to the legacy of Batman and became nightwing instead. Or it's possible he did become Batman, appears for a bit in Justice League and is either defeated, kidnapped, or killed and Bruce comes out of retirement and becomes Batman again. A lot can happen.

I had this thought over the weekend as well. The return of Bruce Wayne in the Justice League movie would be HUGE bank for WB.

It's a tricky situation as Nolan did such a good job with TDK trilogy but his Batman would not ergonomically fit into a JL movie.

That being said, it's not impossible.

The idea of building JGL as Batman and then killing him off in JL is bold but would be a solid catalyst for the movie's third act, uniting the JL and having Bruce Wayne return to the mantel.

he's serve the same plot device that Agent Coulson did in Avengers.

Not impossible; but a challenge as it would betray everything Nolan did with TDK trilogy.

Of all the things they could borrow from Marvel, I would say the after credits sequences would be the best.

I would truly like to see a moment at the end of the JL movie where the events and damage caused due to a battle with Apocolypse and Darkseid has Amanda Waller meeting with the secretary of Defense, presenting a file labelled "Project: Doomsday" or "OMAC"

:3

The question isnt how to tie TDKR to JL .That is easily done. The problem is wht use wld Bales batman be to the justice league? He lacks all the assets that make Batman of use to a JL movie
