Action-Adventure John Wick: Chapter 4

It was definitely hard not to, especially at the very beginning.

The scenes with Charon and Winston hit hard for obvious reasons but also the discussions on the boat between John, Winston and the BK also got me.

There's one part in particular that I knew Chad had mastered the art of the action for these movies.

John vs Caine. The shot from the trailer where Caine jumps and kicks wick is done all in camera. I love how Caines blindness plays a huge part in his fighting style. John knocks him to the floor, and he comes back with that jump kick. The he misses all of his sheathed sword attacks and then backs up into shooting his gun, unsheathes, and goes back in with the sword and gun. The whole thing is just expertly done and I've watched the leaked clip numerous times on YouTube. It's a small part of the fight but it just gets me hyped every time I see it. It's done in between sections of dialogue too. I love this ******* movie.

I'm genuinely wondering if any other action flick this year will top this. Dead Reckoning? I mean, who knows? It's hard for me to imagine.

That’s the only one I think has a shot. They’re the two best action franchises we got right now.

I mean Dead Reckoning obviously has the best shot, but I also think Sisu looks like a lot of fun for what it is and seeing that trailer on the bigscreen in front of JW4 made it look even better IMO. Also, out of all the Red-Band trailers at my showing that one by far got the best reaction from my crowd.

The Dead Reckoning crew are watching this right now and thinking they better up their game. The baton will be passed to them and hopefully they can match JW.

I mean I love the guy but it’s been 9 years since The Raid 2. Chad Stahelski and Christopher McQuarrie have both made multiple films since.

No my thought process was no one was mentioning him right now because his last big action film was nine years ago, unlike the guys who have been prominent in peoples faces the past few years. No one called Gareth Evans washed.
