I don't think there's ever been a non-compete clause for actors and CBMs. Don't they have like, guilds who protect against that.

Yeah, I've talked about it before but it would be extremely difficult to enforce. Even leaving aside the Screen Actors Guild, most states don't like these kinds of contracts. I know California disfavors them except in narrow circumstances so a broad one like that wouldn't fly.

Anyway, I'm excited about this news. It's such good casting that I honestly wondered why it never occurred to me. Maybe he's a bit short, but he's got exactly the right body type for this character and absolutely has that grizzled feel that's necessary.

I wouldn't worry about the height thing. I mean, isn't Tom Hardy like 5'8"? But he looks like he's 6'10" in TDKR. It's amazing what a little muscle mass and some thick soled boots can do.

I'm very pleased with this choice. Brolin has already displayed the intensity and gruffness that is required for the part. I can see him and Reynolds really working well together.

I think Brolin will be awesome. He can do stoic and serious... but he can do comedy as well. It will be fun to see how they portray Cable. They could even make him a bit unhinged and suffering from PTSD after all the horrors he's seen.

Either way I think him and Reynolds will be great together.

And knowing Reynolds and the writers they'll probably include a throwaway line about Thanos, but I can see them having a blast with Goonies references.
