What makes you think just because they don't like Whedon's vision, they'll automatically go for something absolutely horrible? It's not your way or the highway, it's not Joss' way or the highway. Anything could happen now. A crappy director could get the job, or an amazing director could get the job. There's really nothing to lead us to believe one thing or another.
it all depends.. if they go with the WW2 script then they might be in preproduction next month.. or if they find screenwriters that hane an idean and feel inspierd then the script might be ready in a week ..Truth be told, I'm kinda relieved that we're probably gonna have the flying in now and an original comicbook villain. Those were my only two concerns with Joss' original plans.
Hopefully they don't take the plane out.
Ugh, like I said though, the thing that sucks most is that now we're back on square one. We need a new writer, a new director, and more years before this thing ever gets off the ground. The new direction might suck even more than Joss' did, and then what? More waiting. More rumors. I'm so sick of the rumors by now.![]()
I really can't blame WB for at least giving Whedon a chance. It's not like they let a crappy movie be made or anything.I already mentioned Cobie Smulders before...
Looks like some of us fans where right, and WB was wrong.
Oh Warner, you suck.
Oh DC, you suck.
Go back to your cubicle and see you in 10 years.
I already mentioned Cobie Smulders before...
As it strands NOW it can go 4 ways.. a totaly Crap movie, No movie, a ok Movie or a fantastic movie.. we just wont know untill the movie gets another director and script in place.. and even then its still a bit up in the air..
Meh. My gut feeling is that a WW2 Wonder Woman script would suck ass beyond the measure of words to describe and that the WB would have to be brain-dead to even consider it.it all depends.. if they go with the WW2 script then they might be in preproduction next month.. or if they find screenwriters that hane an idean and feel inspierd then the script might be ready in a week ..
remember that for Superman Returns they went from Nothing to preproduction in 2 months

They hired a writer/director with a good reputation, and a good track record of writing female leads, and he just couldn't get it done. WB isn't run by Nostradamus.
Uh, they didn't even feel like rewriting Whedon's draft, and that was set in this period. I doubt they're going to rewrite one set half a century ago.
I keep telling anyone who would listen: George Perez's Wonder Woman volume "Gods and Mortals" translates almost flawlessly to the silver screen. He's done all the work you would ever need.
Joss Whedon just announced on whedonesque that he is no longer involved with Wnder Woman. He and the studio had different ideas and it just didn't work out.

So...even though they had Whedon rewrite his script several times...eh let's just ignore that part of this conversation
instead of saving a **** load of time and just having that script rewritten(which can be incredibly easy to do even if you don't use the original writers to do it) they'll waste probably another year to get another script written
good logic there
tunes would have been hilariously changedWhedom had himself rewrite it a number of times. He himself said a number of times he was having a hard time getting it right. Whedom wasn´t even a WW fan to begin with, he didn´t read the comics, he didn´t even want to use a villain from comics - and we all know the can of worms that alone would have opened here...
I just hope to God they get a good director.I like Joss but this seems for the best given how much he was struggling and seemingly wanted to make a Wonder Woman movie with many key elements missing(probably a hazzard of a guy used to creating his own characters)
I get the feeling things may move quicker then some think, this script they bought will probably be sent off next week to some directors and it could be filming by the end of the year
I mean that at this point in time, they don't feel like it anymore. Joss himself said they didn't want to go through an assload of rewrites to make his script, which was clearly not their vision, somehow fit to their vision.So...even though they had Whedon rewrite his script several times...eh let's just ignore that part of this conversation
To rewrite a period piece set fifty years ago and make it somehow work in 2007? Seems like me to be more work and trying to hammer a square peg into a round hole. What are they going to do? Change "Nazis" to "Al Quaida?" Yeah, there's logic. I'd rather they just go ahead and take the time to hammer out an original script set in this period. But hey, what do I know?instead of saving a **** load of time and just having that script rewritten(which can be incredibly easy to do even if you don't use the original writers to do it) they'll waste probably another year to get another script written
