yeah deniro is too small for hogun i pictured a big asian actor to play him also because this was the casting call

[HOGUN]
Male. ASIAN / SOUTH EAST ASIAN / MONGOLIAN / EAST INDIAN. Late 20s to mid 30s. Grim, stoic, fearless. A man of few words who lives for battle...SUPPORTING.

Man, if this is true then this movie will have a great cast. This movie could be the bests super hero movie ever.

If they can get a big name actor who fits the part well than sometimes they'll just throw out the casting call. As an example, here was the original casting call for the Whiplash character in IM2.

[BRUISER]
Russian, 20s or 30s, at least 6'2", able to perform own stunts, has the build of a MMA fighter...

If they wanted to skew older (which is possible, if we're right about Brian Blessed and Jude Law), I'd like to see Chow Yun Fat or Beat Takeshi in the role. :awesome:

Ken Wanatanabe for Hogun  He's big name, he's a great actor and he's got the looks.

blessed would make a better volstagg than odin. volstagg is loud, booming but funny, odin is imposing and imtimidating. blessing 'could' play odin but I think stellan would do a better job. I think chewy has it spot on and I'm excited for confirmation.

in regards to hogan I think its less about size and more about attitude.

If this film has been made 20 years ago...Branagh himself would have been a badass Fandral.

how great would that be for Warrior Three

Fandral - Jude Law
Volstagg - Brian Blessed
Hogun - Ken Wantanabe

Beautiful scene. That film is the only film in years that nearly made me shed a tear. That and Green Mile are the only films ever to get me choked up.

I think he would be awesome as Hogun.

I was actually posting it as a joke to illustrate the "perfect" casting choice. :awesome:

:funny: Yea I realized that after. :awesome:

But it is a beautiful scene none the less.

Oh, I agree. But you're a much harder-hearted man than me if that and The Green Mile are the only films to make you shed a tear. I still blub watching ET. :csad:

I cried at Daredevil & The Fantastic Four...but for different reasons!

Wow this is going to be a really good movie with this cast. It is amazing. I mean you have the friggin Godfather in this movie!!

I don't know. People like Robin Williams and Billy Crystal had small roles in Branagh's Hamlet. I could see him stacking up somewhat small supporting roles with his buddies/big name thespians

Exactly...

I dunno though... other than age Rourke sort of fits that build. Are the Warrior Three really physical roles because then I don't see DeNiro in that group? I guess you can get away with one of those guys being old, but you'd need a younger guy to pair with Law, assuming he is Fandral. That's why I think there is a shot Skarsgard slips into Volstagg or Hogun while DeNiro gets Odin.

So Vito Corleone is both Superman's dad and Thor's dad? :oldrazz:

Hmm... interesting. I guess now we just need to wait and see if its true.
