Julia Ormond - In Talks to Play Lara

Unless Julia dyes her hair color to something else, I think she’ll be the first actress with dark hair to portray the character in live action, since the previous actresses to have played Lara in live action format (S:TM-SIV, Superboy TV Series, LnC, Smallville) have all been either brunette, blonde, or something in the middle

She's probably only going to have one line, just like Martha "what's wrong, Bruce?" Wayne. So people really need to stop fretting over ability. Just the look.

Sorry but there is no way Adams could pass for 26 anymore. She is still beautiful but she is someone who looks like an attractive mid-30's woman. There is a lot of aging that happens from 35-45, especially for woman. If you saw a pic of Julia Ormond 10 years ago you would be surprised how much of a change she has had. I'm not dissing either woman as both are beautiful but it will be hard for anyone to look youthful at 45 even with surgery. Here is a pic of Adams and this is with makeup on.

attractive mid-30's woman = Lois Lane.

It's interesting how people find Diane Lane attractive at 46, but think that Amy Adams will be elderly in the same age...

That's why I'm tired from this forum, I can't stand such shallow and sexist people...

Well, look at the bright side. At least one of them got the boot. :cwink:

Don't let it get to you. Most of the people who continue to whine about Amy's looks can be viewed as nothing more than trolls at this point I think. If someone makes a point and moves on, that's fine. Constantly beating the same dead horse (especially in threads that have nothing to do with Amy) has already gotten old though -- no pun intended.

Regardless of Amy's age, she looks fit, healthy and attractive. (For those relentlessly searching for bad pics of her, anyone can take a photo that doesn't necessarily reflect his/her appearance in the best light.) If Amy's actual age wasn't common knowledge, I think quite a few of the haters out there would be diminished in number. Realistically, plenty of people don't look their age! Take Kelli Giddish, for example. She's 31, but looks quite a bit older in my opinion. On the opposite side of the spectrum, consider Mary Louise Parker (46). She could very well be in her late thirties or early forties.

Anyway, getting back on topic, I think Julia Ormond would be a great choice for the role of Lara in MOS. It's great how the production team continues to surprise us all by bringing in talent than virtually no one here has been suspecting.

Yeah, I think it's cool that we'll be getting a brunette Lara for a change. She's often appeared that way in the comics, although I'm sure there's been plenty of variation.

LOL... I can't believe that I didn't even notice that until now. BOTH of Superman's dads are guys who were miscast as Robin Hood!

**Note, I really like Crowe and Costner. But that's one role neither of them should have taken.

And Julia Ormond was Guinevere to Sean Connery's King Arthur who starred with Kevin Costner i "The Untouchables"

C'mon let's start a "6 degree's" chain!

Cavill would be a great Robin Hood. :yay:

I think some people make mean remarks about Julia's current looks are unfair. I think she has aged well and it not fair to compare her to the seemingly immortal and youthful Brad Pitt, her 'Legends of the Fall' co-star.

I actually thought she was 50-55... so she looks a bit older than she is. But she's still a lovely woman.

i have to admit that after looking at some pictures of hers, she has aged fast in the past 5 years.

maybe she's been loungin' in the NZ sun with no SPF protection

Thank you for giving us the STUPID quote to respond too...

I'd like to see examples, it you're gonna name every live action series to ever exist, just to prove that Julia Ormond, a beautiful woman and a fine enough actress, should not play Lara... Especially based on her hair...

What about Byrne's 86 origin? Lara had no visible hair...

I didn't expect her for the role but I'm fine with her playing Lara.

I think she'll do fine as Lara. Julia Ormond is still quite attractive. Recently saw her as a recurring character on CSI: NY as well. And with regards to the above pic that rack mmmm. Remember seeing them bare in that Nostradamus movie with Tcheky Karyo some time back too.... :p

I don't think he/she was saying that he has a problem with it at all. Calm down.

Yes, she has. I still think she looks good, but I'm surprised that she aged so quickly. Perhaps it's because, unlike many actresses, she hasn't gone under the knife. On a side note, I don't agree that her former LOTF co-star is all that "youthful" looking either. Neither of the two look like they did back in 94 for obvious reasons. 17 years is a long time!

I hope that's not the case. Martha Wayne was portrayed like a Stepford wife with basically no lines in BB. The focus was entirely on Thomas, which was sort of weird and disappointing.

Having said that, I think the Lara character will be a little more "fleshed out" in MOS. Time will tell though.

Here's a link to the most recent video I could find with Julia on the interwebs:

I think it's cool how Crowe and Ormond actually look like they can be Cavill's parents.
I've always liked Julia's features. Her nose, for example, is cute and uncommon.

What is this about? It sounds like he was talking about hair color, not that he doesn't like the actress?
