Clarke Kent is dead, bury it, consider this mercy.

They have already ruined the Superman character, it wouldn't shock me if the ruined him even more. It is so sad having people who hate the character and his world being in control of him.

Hopefully the Clark Kent persona isn't permanently gone.

In the comic Superman Beyond, set in the near future of the DC universe Superman left the Daily Planet due to his slower aging and became full time Superman for a while. But he later decided to adopt another secret identity of Kal Kent a Firefighter.

Not sure how it would explain any kind of future with Lois given how all her friends would know Clark's face

I'm honestly curious on how much of a say Snyder will have on the entire DCEU post JL1. I mean if Superman is allowed to have his own solo sequel after JL1, if we get a new director that project, will Snyder have control over the story and direction?

Both the Wrap via El Mayimbe and Devin Faraci have said they have heard WB wants a more of a "classic" style Superman for a MOS sequel. More self confident, a lighter story, etc.

I want Clark back. If he's dead and Jimmy then wow, just wow. It's easy to bring him back. Clark was investigating a bad guy and had to enter the witness protection program with the help of Bruce. Bruce drops a pic to perry which has clark in the background. Perry finds clark and brings him back because the bad guy is dead. Bruce chose a bad guy who died. Clark's back. We move on.

The idea of Smallville being this big collective of loyal secret keepers hasn't been established to a significant degree just yet, beyond Pete Ross and the priest, for it to be a viable element to rely upon. At this point it would just feel absurdly convenient, which is not what you want.

The more I think about the more I consider two things

Either Snyder went ahead and made the decision that Superman's Clark Kent identity wasn't something he wanted to use in the DCEU or for future DCEU directors to use.

Or he killed off Superman without thinking about how he could bring Clark Kent back.

I don't like either of them

I could believe it completely, and I wish I was a fly on the wall in Geoff Johns' office when he hears of this, if it's actually the case. Remarks Johns made about Green Arrow/Black Canary in Rebirth could easily be seen as heavy criticism of the direction Arrow has taken, I have to imagine he'd just want to throttle Zack.
Imagine if Snyder or the TV guys did something similar with Stargirl.

Oh boy Geoff would be outright ****ing angry.

This just seems like an extreme reaction to me. You think they mishandled him? Fine. Hates the character though? I don't see it.

Sounds the least illogical and way to it. If they bring Clark back I don't expect them to dwell on how he came back to long at all.

I don't think Clark Kent will be back either, unfortunately. That was something that had me scratching my head after BvS.

Unless JL is a massive box office hit that receives massive critic and audience acclaim (which, considering that Snyder at his best is still divisive, seems unlikely) I think it's safe to assume that Snyder will have very little influence on anything after JL, it's in WB's best interest to distance the DCEU from him, and I say that as someone who really liked MoS and BvS.

You've become what you always hated about fanboy culture.

Come back to us, Spidey!

considering all thats happened, and i predicted it would happen (anyone with a brain could have, really) that the clark persona was dead and gone. Having him and superman come back is just too fishy.

I hated that they killed him off so early and still hate that decision so so much, but its kinda the only route they can go at this point.

Let's not forget that at the end of the day, this is still a unconfirmed rumor. Unless this guy has had a rock solid track record of breaking in accurate spoilers, I wouldn't invest much thought into his words.

Schnepp is a small time director worked on Death of Superman Lives and mostly Adult Swim stuff.

Like I said The last big rumor he created was the George Miller in talks for MOS 2, and that didn't pan out.

Also could be just his opinion. But I really hope it isn't true for the sake of future MOS stuff

Well if JL is truly the last major film that Snyder will have a say in, then even if Snyder chooses not to bring back the "Clark Kent" persona in it, there's always hope that Johns could push for the persona to return in the next solo outing, especially if the appointed Director is truly passionate (in a good way) about the character.

I don't see how Clark Kent isn't in MoS 2.

You guys are not considering the option that maybe they have the whole thing planned out(which they have) so they probably have a plan on how to bring Clark back.I dont believe for a second that they went "Oh lets kill him.How to bring him back?Ahh we will figure that out later,he is not that important anywayz lolz".

I mean people say "oh they shouldnt have killed Clark Kent" but why wouldnt they have Clark's funeral and have him declared dead, when Lois/Martha all know he is dead.I mean why will they pretend "he got burried" or some other random BS.I mean WE as a audience know he will comeback, but they dont right? So they have no incentive of trying to cover that.Perry already knows/suspects the whole Clark/Superman thing so its incredibly easy to manufacture a story about how he went undercover/was in a coma or something, and he's back now.Considering this clark was already a low key figure, that wouldnt be hard. Also they can go the farmer/fireman route.

You guys are being worried over nothing.

There are many ways to bring Clark back and Goyer said when MOS came out that it's open secret in Smallville that Clark has super powers. All it could mean is letting Perry in on the secret.

There could easily be a "he was deep undercover on a story", "Bruce Wayne helped him fake his death for X reason", etc. There's so many ways to bring Clark back.

does he? i never thought of that.

Perry asks Lois "He is still missing ?" about Clark to Lois, when Superman was missing after the capital bombing. Also add the fact when Lois asks for the chopper and tells him "Its not for a story" he knowingly nods towards her.I mean Perry is a smart guy,I am sure he connected the dots.

hmm, come to think of it maybe you are right.
