So I felt KyleMaclachlan is killing it so far and was surprised I couldn't find a thread already created for him. If there is please merge. So most of us are pretty sure he is

I think so too. I just wonder how they're going to pull off his "Hulked out" mode? If it's anything on par with the CG on Absorbing Man, I'm sure it'll rock. I just hope they don't go practical and give us something like what we got in League of Extraordinary Gentleman, that would be awful.

There are plenty of mad scientist types in the marvel universe, so I'm just curious why so many seem to have zeroed in on him. But I haven't read many comic appearances of [BLACKOUT]Mr. Hyde[/BLACKOUT] other than his Journey Into Mystery origins and other appearances in Thor comics over the years, so maybe there are things about him that have changed.

But I haven't read many comic appearances of [BLACKOUT]Mr. Hyde[/BLACKOUT] other than his Journey Into Mystery origins and other appearances in Thor comics over the years, so maybe there are things about him that have changed.

I think it comes down to [blackout]all the references to him being a "monster" and losing control/anger issues and stuff. Plus, Mister Hyde's daughter's a SHIELD agent with certain immunities (and eventually powers) thanks to the serum in his blood, so it all fits.[/blackout]

That said, I'm still thinking/hoping for more of an alien connection.

I am wondering if they modify both characters to be tied to the Inhumans somehow.

I'm guessing Maximus the Mad.

The character may be too out there for an Inhumans movie if that ever happens and if it does, it would be a cool link to the show. Uncle Black Bolt and Aunt Medusa could pull Coulson in to that movie and have a chat about Skye.

Thanks. The reasoning behind Skye's character ([BLACKOUT]Daisy Johnson[/BLACKOUT]) is pretty solid, and I definitely see the connection there. But I think that's the strongest element of this [BLACKOUT]Mr. Hyde[/BLACKOUT] theory. To be honest, though, I'm hoping for someone else for both Skye and her evil pops, and I'll be surprised if the current theory turns out to be true... sorry to be a party pooper!

Definitely, that was a nicely directed scene, with a lot of suspense and drama going on in a relatively small setting.

I could definitely see that. It would fit very well with what we've seen of his character, and with what we know about Skye's past.

Daredevil might have a guest appearance on the show, since Mr. Hyde is one of Daredevil's most frequent enemies.

If anything, the opposite is more likely (although not very) with [BLACKOUT]Zabo [/BLACKOUT]appearing on Daredevil. The timing is just too awkward with Daredevil not airing until after this season ends, airing all at once, airing on a different platform, etc. Plus, Daredevil's world is so dramatically different it's hard to push them together until he is at least well-established (which, to me, means post-Defenders).

ETA: Added spoiler tags. Although it's just blatant speculation anyway (and I'm not sure we've been consistent about it so everyone's probably seen it), I'll do it out of an abundance of caution since everyone is doing it that way.

Or at least, we do partially...

He's definitely Calvin Zabo. There's no doubt about that. But are we really comfortable with calling him Mr. Hyde yet? I mean, sure, he's strong and aggressive and unstable...but I wouldn't say that he's lived up to his reputation as a "monster" yet.

I really wonder if this is as far as they're willing to take this character in terms of power, or if we're actually going to see transform into something else...
