Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Kyle Maclachlan IS ?

He named himself Hyde as he was a fan of the story and it influenced his research. I doubt we'd hear it more than once if at all in the MCU anyway. I hate stupid pun names in comics as much as anyone but this isn't one.

Or they could make it completely uninteresting and have him just a human with rage issues, Christ knows we don't have enough grounded realism these days :whatever: #thanksnolan

Regardless, I still think the point is moot. I doubt they introduced Zabo and threw in numerous mentions of "monsters" killing Hydra and Shield agents in China if they only intended for him to be some schlub with anger management problems.

Yeah, because a human turning themselves into a monster is so damn original. Abomination, The Lizard, Green Goblin, etc. Yeah, that's NEVER been done before. Oh and he modeled his appearance off of the story. So it's even more trite and clichéd than I thought, good to know.

oooh sarcasm. That's edgy and new.

I think people who don't like superhero tropes in their superhero fiction should look around for a different genre to follow. I'm sick and tired of people whining about comic book-based media containing comic book-based elements. Find something you like and stop trying to twist and distort the things you obviously do not.

So you're moaning about people moaning? Don't you see any irony there?

nah, I'm not interested in running around in circles with people who just want to complain about everything all the time. Too many other posters around who actually enjoy the stuff they watch to bother with that mess.

Not moaning mate. Just pointing out something. In fact I think people should have a moan if they don't like something about the show. If the show is not perfect or there is something bad then people should say so. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Frankly it's asinine to complain about getting a comic accurate character, being played by a pretty top level actor on a solid network show.

I think that Kyle is great as Hyde. It doesn't bother me that he doesn't (or at least hasn't) changed. But I can understand some people not liking the fact.

What I'm most curious about is whether he's an Inhuman, or the result of some kind of scientific serum or such. In the comics, Inhumans aren't supposed to marry outside of other Inhumans, though it has happened.

How do Inhumans know:

1 - whether they're inhuman (Skye didn't know)?
2 - whether someone else is inhuman?

The actor is great but last episode I just had such anticipation for him to finally transform and it was so very underwhelming when he didn't.
Plus Marvel TV has access to Marvel Studios resources, couldn't they borrow the 3d model of Hulk and resculpt it? I honestly don't know how any of this stuff work but being as there is a ton of work done on something similar I just assume they could repurpose the model, no?

In any case why the hell is Zabo freakishly strong, it's clear that he isn't Inhuman as it was his wife that had that gift to give, so has he just been experimenting with the Super Soldier Serum? If so, being as he has had it in him since the 80s he seems to be the most successful to have reproduced the serum, more so than Killian, Ross and co, and Hydra.

Dunno. It seems to have some crapy side effects. The whole beserker killing rage might have some drawbacks if they wanted to mass market it.

It was a line I immediately forgot, but I got the impression he invented some kind of scientific serum to help him get his revenge on Whitehall. The serum, of course, had side effects when it came to his ability to control his temper.

What I want to know is since when do Inhuman's powers need to be "activated"? I thought it was more or less the Mutant principle, where the powers manifest around puberty.(Not that you had to take a doohickey into a temple and turn it on)

Nope. To my knowledge, Inhumans have always had to undergo a process called "Terrigenesis" (inhaling the mists from the terrigen crystals) to receive their powers. This process can often have unpredictable results, and so tends to be heavily regulated to those with "pure" genetic lines, if I understand it correctly.

Even among the Inhumans, the Terrigenesis is not a common process and not every Inhuman will go through it. In the past, all Inhumans were allowed, producing "radical" and "monstrous" mutations, while damaging the Inhuman gene pool.

In order to stop that genetic loss, every Inhuman had to go through a strict genetic screening before being allowed to go through the transformation. After "many millenia", that strict rule allowed the Inhumans to restore their genetic diversity.

Well,that's interesting.Thanks for adding to my education.:yay:

The murderous thing seems justified.
He only went on a rampage in that village when he found the eviscerated remains of his wife, someone you loves is taken from you in such a brutal fashion and you have them means to vent that frustration you just might.

But that brings me to the inconsistency of his rage powers.
How do you go from being able to massacre a village of hundreds and killing some Hydra goons in a couple of seconds to not being able to kill Coulson after a few minutes of ground and pound.

But he also killed a Hydra guy in Whitehall's office and immediately had to apologize for it. Fortunately, Whitehall places no value on human life, but it would certainly be a way to ruin a job interview for most people.

He is not an inhuman!!! He was about to explained what happen to him then he jump off subject!! He told skye that she was special like her mother!!! So there you have it!! Skye Mother is Inhuman and Hyde is just crazy as hell!!! LOL

That was my thinking as well (that he wasn't Inhuman), though I wasn't completely certain. Good catch about him calling her mother special (and not himself, or both of them). Technically, that means Skye is only half-Inhuman, but I don't know whether that's too fine a distinction to make (or if there's even any effective difference).

And the 2 guys at his surgery for no apparent reason.

When the gang-member told Cal to calm down, it seemed to have an opposite effect :oldrazz:
