yeah its like saying a lot people like the x-men movies lets hire that guy and make him do a superman movie. its a sure shot sucess. x men one is still gold imo without that and blade marvel wouldnt be where it was interms of films

Well i thought SR was a great movie also, so we obviously think along different lines. IMO WB did right in signing Singer.

I look forward to a Singer directed sequel. I think he will make it amazing. Remember, a lot of people disliked X1, but then LOVED X2 when it came out as everything was ramped up.

great to hear there will be a sequel. i thought SR was an okay movie -- not particularly the right direction in all aspects, but I'm hopeful Singer will make some changes with the 2nd, esp. given the questions/commotion he's caused after the 1st one. You have to think his writers are reading some of these boards and feeling they need to step it up.

one thing i wish H-wood would stop worrying about is supe' boy scout image. If you're reading, we WANT our superman to be a boy scout -- i actually think that's his redeeming image and what many of us like about him -- that no matter how crazy/demented the world gets, Supes remains the equilibrium of good. SR seemed to knock him down to our level, which doesn't work. Show him saving people -- that's what fans -- IMHO -- want.

Hopefully, the sequel delivers. Since Singer and Co. will have more time with this one, my fingers are crossed that they'll be able to invest time to work out/draft the script with many of the viewers' complaints in mind.

Definitely agree with you, and BTW Visionary doesn't have to shut up- 'haters' are open to have their own opinion as long as they understand that it isn't and don't see it as being the 'gospel truth'- same goes for pro. Both are open to have their own opinions as much as the next person/poster just as long as they both understand that it is and only is an opinion.

They're looking long term. DVD sales, merchandising, etc. Not to mention the possibilities of further, "more exciting" entries in the franchise. It's not stupid, it's common sense.

A Lois Lane Spin-Off Flick?

While all of us here in Movie News Land speculate as to whether or not there will be another Superman flick, Kate Bosworth is quietly telling Neil Sean over at Sky News that there's a lot more Lois Lane heading our way. So far we know director Bryan Singer definitely wants a sequel, with financing partners Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures slowly starting to favor another installment as well. Superman himself (Brandon Routh) has nothing better to do with his time and has repeatedly stated that if they wanted to do another one, he's game.

Well, now Kate Bosworth is promoting her return to the role of Lois Lane. Not only that, but she's talking spin-off too. Says Bosworth, "Lois will be back bigger and better in the next movie, and with more of her own storyline." The article goes on to reveal there are plans to give Lois her own "investigative spin off." Okay, not for nothing, but what good is a Lois Lane flick without Superman? Wow, let's watch as she rigorously tracks down a story, gets into trouble and has no one to bail her out. I simply cannot wait! Do any of you actually want a Lois Lane spin-off movie? If so, why?

Don't want a Lois Lane spin-off or Jimmy spin-off, seeing the comics- these characters have had countless comic spin-offs I can see where this idea might have come from. But, in the end I believe this spin-off is a guaranteed production hell (never gets off the ground)
