Not liking how this film's looking to have a big military presence like in the Transformers films, Battle LA, and Battleship.

Hate when they put there asses into Hollywood and use films as recruitment tools. They outright admitted they were doing this on the TFROTF Making of Documentary.

I hate when people forget to exercise their free will. Given how Godzilla was created....yes, this film will be military propaganda.

...have you ever actually seen a Godzilla movie? I don't think there's been a single movie that didnt have a strong military presence.

This is probably the dumbest thing I have read. Too much military presence in a Godzilla film?

What, do you want them to fight Godzilla with rocks?

And Battle LA had too much military presence? What did you expect there? The main characters were all USMC soldiers!

I guess he expects Godzilla to roll into any city on earth and crush things while everyone just runs away without putting up a fight. Sounds like an entertaining movie

It could be some forced animal rights allegory. Godzilla has as much right to live as we do maaaaan :o

I've seen practically every Godzilla film.

The military was there, but usually not as the main focus of the story and every action sequence.

Almost every scene they've filmed so far for this film has had camo pattern around.

We probably wouldn't get many Godzilla scenes if the film focused on a family fleeing across the country to avoid his path.

The military focus allows us to remain close to the action.

I guess I'm just uneasy by the fact that their presence in the film might most likely just to be a recruitment tool.

Its only a recruitment tool if you let it be a recruitment tool. I see it as a way of giving me characters in conflict.

I just hope they handle it in a way where it doesn't become Battle LA or hinder the main attraction with military screen time like in the Transformers films where the Autobots don't get much to do.

In the end does it matter? Does it work on you? If not it shouldn't bother you. If people are swayed by it, it's their issue. You just sit back and enjoy Godzilla knocking over buildings.

Lol, it definitely wouldn't work on me. It just bothers me that that's what they're attempting to do and it might be working on people.

Anyway, I guess it's better than seeing a guy trying to save his ex wife and kids from the destruction after a divorce xD

Oh, much better! Now, with Transformers, they had multiple giant robots to put on the screen. They had to make them look convincing. That takes $$$. So focus more on human characters. Here, we have Godzilla and possibly another kaiju. So there should be more focus on the monsters or the wake of their rampage.

The military lends itself to many movies, basically as long as their presence in the movie is clearly defined. I don't know how far this goes back, but at least all the way to Goldfinger, and that movie was made by the Brits!

There was a lot of real military support for Man of Steel and in that case there's an actual tie in recruitment campaign, that's a bit further than simply having them in the film for my taste.

There was originally going to be real military support in The Avengers but they pulled out due to unanswered questions about the relationship between SHIELD and the armed forces.

Not sure what the military would be selling potential recruits on with this movie.

"Join the Army and you could fight giant radioactive lizards!"

Makes more sense than their involvement in Man of Steel. They kind of have their asses handed to them throughout that movie.

^Umm.... When had da big green G ever NOT handed them their asses as well?

The campaign for Man of Steel was mostly done by Snyder as a thank you to the Natonal Guard for working in his movie. As long as these guys aren't as dumb as the ones in the Emmerich's. I think we will be fine

First look at Elizabeth Olsen filming in Vancouver (as San Fran):

Such a beauty. Other than Godzilla himself, she's the one I've been waiting to see.
