This is easily my most anticipated event film of the year. The potential is just so high. I hate jumping the gun and declaring things so long before a film is released because I think measured anticipation is always best....but this could match the original film easily.
These two teasers have been chilling and the tone seems spot on and the talent in front and behind the camera is stunning. Considering how small Monsters was Edwards seems to have a great grasp on scope in this film.

Yep, we're probably related. I'm sure we share some of the same Genes.

Pun intended? If so

The trailer has me excited. Does anyone know if any other Toho monsters are going to Appear in this?

Oh yes. Do you think we'll see any tail attacks in this movie?

Given his size, oh yes.

Maybe there could be seeing as they have been successful at keeping this film a secret, but for now there are going to be completely original monsters referred to as the "Mutos".

I wanna see a soldier sliding down Godzilla's tail Fred Flintstone style. :oldrazz:

There are other monsters known as "Mutos", but as far as we know, none of the Godzilla's famous rogues gallery will show up, at least in the first film.

If anything, they'll set up a classic monster in this film for a potential sequel. I know [BLACKOUT]Hedorah[/BLACKOUT] has been rumored for a while.

So is this a Humans vs Godzilla movie? Or Godzilla as a hero of sorts vs other monsters?

The Japanese people are sadly bang on about Ken Watanabe.

It's more or less that Asian actors are generally marginalized and in stereotypical roles on film.

Where as Japanese actors in Japan are stuck doing soap operas because the Japanese film industry is no longer thriving.

I seem to recall that the original had a token white dude stuck in there for American audiences. Maybe Ken Watanabe is sort of a nod to that on some level.

The movie does place in Japan too. Ken won't be stuck in his hotel room the entire time, looking out from his window.

So godzilla is a menace, destroying cities and whatnot. But is also a hero, killing other monsters? Sounds good to me

I'm convinced Watanabe is playing a modern version of Dr. Serizawa.

More or less haha. Maybe not so much hero, but someone who is standing his ground against the creatures that are threatening the world he loves.....to destroy. :oldrazz:
