Reading the comments from Japan one thing I found interesting was just how similiar they react to movies like we do over here. Seriously...if you hadn't told me the comments were from Japan I would have just assumed it was american reactions.

Reminds me of when there's anime versions of American characters and especially comic book characters then fans freak out just by seeing anime Spidey or Wolverine

Japanese trailer...

Any extra new footage or is it just Japanese subtitled?

Yeah, it's like "Oh, here's the go-to Asian actor to market the film to us!"

The reason why American studios like him is because he's an Oscar nominated actor. One of the few Japanese actors who got that sort of recognition. I think there's a lot of weight there, and the studios know that. That and most Japanese actors NOW are not trained in English. The talent is kinda sparse now.

In fact, the Kotoku had an article on how the Japanese film industry is extremely stagnant, and mostly soap opera actors are dominating the industry. If you notice, we haven't heard about a great Japanese film in a long time. Meanwhile the Koreans are destroying the competition.

The Last Samurai's Ken Wantanabe and Hiroyuki Sanada are pretty much Hollywoods go to Japanese actors.

Both of them are good actors. Some Asian film stars aren't interested in apperaing in Hollywood films because they find the roles too stereotypical or because they don't get to play the lead.

That too. Even Asian directors have a hard time breaking in. Look at John Woo's filmography in America. He was so progressive in Hong Kong. A game changer.

Then in America, he was tasked with the most generic movies. I love Face-Off and Hard Target, but they could've been directed by anyone.

The Godzilla 1998 soundtrack is a fantastic time capsule, similar to the Batman Forever soundtrack.

But did you know,
That when it snows,
My eyes become large and
The light that you shine can be seen.
Baby,
I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray :funny:

That Diddy/Jimmy Page song over the end credits was tight though. :o

If I don't see Epic "scale" puns and "Roaring good time!"-type lines from critics, I'm going to be pissed.

I felt so betrayed when I got older and finally discovered that that track was a Bowie cover.

I kinda felt the same. But it's probably still one of the best cover songs I've ever listened to.

You won't be disappointed.

i think the worst thing that came out of Woo's American stuff was McG.
