No No! Have a guy dressed as Roland Emmerich exclaim after seeing the monster, "Someone should make a movie about that guy!" AND THEN HE GETS STOMPED ON!

Or have dialog like:

Godzilla: That's a lot of fish
Gamera: *Stares confused at Godzy*

Why just a guy dressed as Roland Emmerich? Write Roland Emmerich into the film and ask him to play himself!

That's one of my favorites. Here's another:

LOL! Godzilla vs The Titanic! That's hilarious!

You know, I have no idea how they're gonna make this new Godzilla movie, but this Godzilla: World Tour story that we've got going is turning out pretty good. Maybe some of us should get together (at least online) and collaborate on writing an actual script. Then if this movie sucks, maybe we can sell a good script to Hollywood. Whattayaguys say?

How many of you watched/liked the 98 version animated show. I actually thought it was pretty good, I've been looking to buy it but they don't make the seasons. Can't even find them to download :(

Sorry, never had the chance to watch it. I was always working back when it was on the air.

Well I think I was 10-11 when it came out lol

it was pretty good and had Godzilla fighting updated versions of all his classic enemies :)

I wonder if they'll expain where he came from or if he'll just ''Be'', like the Joker in TDK or the cloverfield monster.
Personally, I'd just like him to be a legend going back thousands of years.
Maybe even tie him in to all the ancient dragon myths that have existed around the world for thousands of years.

s.
I like that idea. I prefer Godzilla to just be this unexplained force in the world that just is. He is because he must be :hehe:

Lets just hope that there are no kiddie godzillas this time..I think its safe to say they won't be.

I hate any sort of baby Godzilla. I hate the Japanese one and I hate the little wannabe Raptor Zilla babies in the American ones. Who the hell is Godzilla actually procreating with anyway???

I always assumed that Godzilla was asexual and could reproduce on its own.

they did say that in the 1999 movie

of course then it brings into question what kind of Asexual reproduction occurs, like a planeria splits itself in half and the halves become whole new planeria or the other kind, to be honest, i dont know if there ar any asexual reproducing vertabrates

I've heard that certain breeds of female sharks have the ability to reproduce on their own.

huh, interesting

if they approached Godzilla like they did the arcituthus in The Beast, that could be interesting

Personally I always thought Godzooki in the old Saturday morning cartoon was a total riot.

I'm with you on the American bastardization of Godzilla though. I didn't like those baby 'Zillas at all.

I always thought the old Japanese Son Of Godzilla was pretty fun. Like when Papa 'Zilla was teaching Junior how to use his atomic breath. Or when Junior threw a temper tantrum and Papa 'Zilla dragged him off by the tail. Those scenes were priceless!

Oh yeah I forgot about moments like that. I guess I still have a such a sour taste in my mouth from Zilla that it clouds my other Godzilla memories.

Milla was the Scrappy of the Godzilla franchise. He was kind of annoying and stupid looking, and he made things feel too Gamera-ish. The worst of all was Godzilla's Revenge, though. You'd think with such an awesome title it would be the most bad ass Godzilla movie ever, but it was a joke, and Godzilla never takes revenge on anyone. It was like one of those lame recap episodes you see in TV shows, except there was also an annoying little kid narrating it all. For the love of Godzilla, what were they thinking!? :(

im seriously thinking, if they went at this movie kind of like The Beast, it could be a really interesting way of doing Godzilla, if you havent seen it, go find it and watch it. based on a Peter Benchley book

Most of the Godzilla films in the 70's were aimed at the kids, hence that lame a$$ attempt up above at interjecting humor into them.
Still, he wouldnt have been so bad if he hadnt of looked like a pillsbury doughboy that had been in the oven too long..

I don't remember ever seeing Revenge Of Godzilla so I can't exactly make an educated comment on that one.

I do remember the scene from Son Of Godzilla, where the humans are feeding Junior coconuts and pineapples. Then Papa 'Zilla calls Junior away and he acts torn, like he doesn't want to get in trouble with Papa but at the same time he wants to stay and play with the humans. If you think about it, this could explane why Godzilla keeps coming to the Earth's aid whenever there's a monster attack. It's not Godzilla coming to the rescue, but Junior all grown up. And he remembers the kindness that the humans had shown him when he was a baby. A little thin for a plot device, I know, but then so is giant lizards that breath atomic fire.

The 90's Godzilla ended with Godzilla Jr. (who is a different creature from Mila, not the same character) growing up into a full-sized Godzilla, and it's implied that this is the Godzilla who appears in many of the 2000 series Godzilla movies. It was a pretty cool passing-of-the-torch concept IMO, though I'm not quite sure how such a concept would fit into the reboot.
