It's taking forever to load & it still has bad quality. I wonder why they don't let it upload to youtube...

OK, having watched it four times now, there is one thing I absolutely love. It fits perfectly in the line of other Les Mis film adaptions, it's just even more beautiful. So, even though the "ah-ha" part in the work song was all wrong and I'm going to prepare myself for a very mild "At the end of the day" (my favorite song!), it's still massively impressive. I don't think anyone could have dreamed of a better film version.

Russell's rock background shines very much through, and it's not completely bad ... and IDAD was different from both of the teaser and TV spot! And better, I think.

I think my one criticism of this new trailer is (and I hope this makes sense) that the background orchestrations sound.... well, thin in places in comparison to the singing that's going on. I'm hoping that's simply because they hadn't finished the actual orchestrations and so they were using pre-existing music track for the trailer. That or it's just the nature of the sound on the trailer (or my headphones), and that in the actual film it will feel and sound a lot fuller.

The dialogue doesn't bother me because I think we've known for a while that pieces of dialogue were going to be added in.

Well I liked the trailer. It is not as well edited/paced as the teaser, but it looks amazing.

All that said...Russell's voice. Yeah. It probably did not help he sang my favorite part of Javert AND "One Day More." I was not too impressed.

My only problem is that the music seems like it was just attached last minute and is very low. Probably just the quality. I'm sure we'll get the official US version today.

Am I mistaken or does Hathaway sing "the dream" instead "a dream" this time? I remember it was "the dream" in the script, I read that part... this version of IDAD I love the most.

I donno, but this take of IDAD >>>>>>>> Every previous version they've shown us. Her voice sounds killer.

Totally agree with this.

I liked the trailer, but I'm not impressed with the way it was edited. The vocals sound pretty good, Crowe aside. And little Cosette is the most adorable thing in the world :hrt:

I actually like the way she sings it better in the teaser. It is rougher but the emotion is rawer.

Any working links to the new trailer?

Why is there talking? Why? :csad:

Why is this a big deal? I think it's a sure bet that this is going to be a faithful adaptation of the musical, from everything we've seen. What difference does it make if it has some dialogue too?

If it's just some dialogue then I'll be fine. Les Miserables is like an opera the majority of the show is singing.

Me neither. :csad: I saw Les Miz on Broadway as a kid, and my mom LOOOVED our Javert. I swear she was ready to throw her panties at him. :lmao:

The trailer is beautiful. This is a really interesting take on the material. That said, none of the singing really impresses, though the acting appears to be spot on. The trade-off of live singing is going to be that it's a lot less polished and, in some cases, it seems, a lot less vocally powerful, than what we're used to from a Les Mis cast. I get it, they're going for subtlety, they're acting the moments, and Javert's part of One Day More almost feels like an offhand comment, something perfunctory, almost something he's singing to himself, so this may well be intentional, and work wonderfully. I don't have a problem with Russel's voice so much...he's no Phillip Quast, but he's more or less right where he needs to be for that bit, which is one of the harder bits Javert has to sing in the show, though it seems, as do several of the other parts of One Day More, to be almost individually arranged in a sense. "Stars" and "Javert's Suicide" are what matter to me, and I still can't believe they'd have cast him if he couldn't sing them and bring the right emotion to them. Really looking forward to this still.

The singing isn't as impressive as that from anniversary concerts ... except for Seyfried! I've never liked how they sang it on stage (I thought Judy Kuhn was the worst of TAC and that blonde girl in 25th was even worse), but Seyfried just captures my heart. So beautiful! I don't think there's anyone, any stage or film actress, who could have done her part better, both vocally and acting.

Just saw the international trailer,

totally disappointed that the words "And introducing Samantha Barks" fail to show up towards the end of the trailer, considering this is her film debut.

But I'm still very excited about this movie. Can't wait for Christsmas to finally arrive.

I'm becoming so tired of those elated cries, "It has Wolverine! It has Wolverine!" It should work the other way round; people should exclaim "It's Jean Valjean!" when they see Wolverine.

Anyway, the trailer seems to be a little disappointment. It still doesn't have even 100 000 views on youtube and the facebook post has only about 4000 likes (even the poster of Thenardiers has some 45 000 likes and the extended first look got 1.5 million views in some two days time...)

why would they? everyone knows hugh jackman as wolverine, not as a character in a movie that hasnt come out yet
