Knockouts! So many great a**es so little screen time. AND most of em can wrestle. I'd love to see Gail Kim vs Sarita.

A good women's wrestling match. I almost forgot what one looks like.

WCW/nWo Nitro, March 31st 1997: Sting Video Package

I used to watch this over and over at the time.

If there was one thing Bischoff knew back then it was cutting edge tv production. Once he was in charge WCW was producing tv ads and video packages that even outdid the WWF.

THAT was a great year long buildup. Unlike Rock vs Cena there was never a waster moment in the buildup to Starrcade 97. Every week you had to tune in to see what would happen next.

RVD in a world title match? Meh.

So sure this is Vince singing.......

vince has said its not him before there is no denying it HAS to be him :woot:
i'm glad they used sherri's and eventually shawn's versions instead though

Tatanka
Shane McMahon
Sheamus
Kurt Angle
Yokozuna
The Giant in WCW
Albert Del Rio
Goldberg
The Undertaker
Brock Lesnar

I agree with most of the list. Angle and Yokozuna need to be further up the list. You could say Sheamus and Del Rio's pushes might of been detrimental though..

You know, there was a lot of missed potential with Tatanka's heel turn. They could have attempted different with him instead of making him a sellout for Money Inc.

My idea for him would have had him coming out, still with the same hair and earrings, but instead of his tribal wrestling gear sport a well taylored suit and walk slowly to the ring. Have him denounce the United States because of its treatment of the American Indian over the years. Book him as an Anti-American Native American. A true American turning his back on the country due to its past sins. I could have been great because I thought was a very good wrestler for the time and had a decent character that I think could have pulled this off. THEN you could have given him the backing of Ted DiBiase in his chase to the top, having him using the white man to do his bidding while he goes about taking the most important title of the company. Because his normal character would never have made it as a main eventer. But if they put some real effort into it, the potential...

watched impact why was'nt wwe using gail as a heel

makes no sense she is a very good heel when you give her mic time and a purpose

Only thing that will make me watch TNA is Roode/Ares at Slammiversary.

Book it.

That annoyed me too. If RVD takes the title off Roode I'm going to be pretty POed. Hopefully RVD is just used to put Roode over well.

Gail ended up just like Victoria in WWE and just like her going to TNA rejuvenated her career because they took the shackles off and let her do her best. Gail and Mickie even made up for their botchtastic Raw match with some good matched in TNA.

The Sting/Hogan build up was unique in many ways, I think the fact there were other angles to filter through the larger NWO angle, it helped the build work as it never felt like it was dragging.

Certain inflections in the voice definitely sound like him.

That certainly would have been better than the bait and switch turn they did with him. It was so poorly executed that the fans never bought into the claims from Tatanka that Lex had been bought off by Dibiase, the crowd for their match at Summerslam highlighted this.

It does sound kind of like Vince which is...hilarious...and creepy.

I've always felt the HBK gimmick was much like the Million Dollar Man Gimmick: something he came up with that he wishes he could have done himself if he were a wrestler.

I think one reason he loves Michaels so much is that he's always liked to live through him vicariously when he's performing. He admires him. I think Vince has always fancied himself a suave ladies man.

Thats why he likes to live out the fantasy on screen so much with various divas.

Sadly the Starcade match itself was crap and lew off everything they had did for a year.

I've always thought the Starcade match was underrated,I agree the ending was BS But the match itself was not all that bad to me!!

It wasn't a bad match, but it was a big shining symbol of what a destructive person Hogan was.

Sting vs Hogan at Starrcade 97 wasn't a bad match but between Stings rust and Hogans bad wheel it didn't live up to the hype either. But the thing that really blighted it was the screwy finish with the messed up 3 count. If the finish had gone off properly and Sting had a proper reign going forward I think people would remember the match more fondly.

Austin Says Punk Needs To Pick Up His Intensity, Shares WrestleMania Thoughts & More

- WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin spoke with The UK's Sun this week to promote Recoil on DVD. Here are some highlights:

Hell in a Cell Saving WrestleMania 28:
"The Undertaker and Triple H match made it special. Going into it, I thought how will they better last year? How do you follow something like that? But they did. It was at about the 8-10 minute mark when I saw them dig beyond the solid work they had done and pull out all of the stops. Shawn Michaels was a real benefit there too. He was perfect in his referee role. I believe the match they had was off the charts. If it hadn’t been for it, the event would have failed. It was very average until then."

Daniel Bryan and WWE's main event scene:
"I felt bad for Daniel Bryan, as his match with Sheamus was so short and I really wanted him to get the chance to shine. He is a great kid and he can work, you just want to see him work and he didn’t get that chance there. I hope they use him better down the line as there aren’t a lot of guys that truly work like he does. Daniel does need some polishing on his promos, but then so do a lot of the guys there. There are a few prime spots for main eventers now and the WWE need to push some guys into them. They have Brock Lesnar back and he is a real monster, he also has his UFC success behind him too. He is right in at main event level. You have Cena there too and then they have very limited opponents. The job now is to move people to that position."

Is CM Punk the one for him to return against at WrestleMania 29?
"Maybe Punk’s not the guy to go against. He needs to pick up his intensity. We’ll have to see what I do, I’m happy now doing what I am. In a perfect world, where I could step back into the ring for one last match I would be willing to have that discussion with management. I do miss the business and working a live crowd, going out there and wrestling your hearts out."

got to agree.

Me too. Austin's another guy that I'd love to hear talk about the business. I should get his new DVD.

-Sean Hayes, who plays Larry in The Three Stooges, appeared on Conan this week where he said he was embarrassed to be on the program. He added that he would never attend a WWE event.
